Yes, after the Costco associate takes out the phone, grab it and run out the store with it. If you are fast enough, this will work...

Most of the questions asked here are either in the promotion posting, or are just stupid. Read before posting.

The document tells you which items will be accepted for trade. You can NOT do a IP6, or SE, or Samsung, etc.

It really does not matter how much they give you for the trade. The total rebate you will get will total $580.

Yes, this promotion is for people adding T-Mobile new lines. Duh! Think!

Simple math tells you that trading in an XS or XR is probably not going to make sense in most cases. So, if then don't. Duh!

Nobody has asked yet, but yes the phone must be paid for. And yes it must work. And yes it must not be broken. Duh!

And yes, you must have a Costco card to pay for the phone.

How much does ___ cost at Costco? Easy - go to the website. Prices are listed.
iPhone 8 through Apple gets you $220
iPhone XS through Apple gets you $500

iPhone 8 through this Costco deal gets you $580
iPhone XS through this Costco deal gets you $580

You should be able to go any Costco Kiosk and add the line via the Bring your Own, and get $125 gift card.
What really?
I think this was not discussed earlier.
In that if i add two lines then $120 monthly..
But if i add two more then it will be $140 monthly and i will get $250 of gift cards.. right?

Now this could be a game changer! So if I cannot find another iPhone 6S to trade in by today, I can add two lines for $20/mo more and get $250 in gift cards?! So spend an extra $40 or so before I unlock phones and cancel service?

This would mean I spend $280 for two months of service and get back $250 in gift cards?

U have to have 3 months of service for those 125$
So 20x2x3 = $120 extra for you but you get $250 it seems

I bought the the phone in Massachusetts. The total with taxes came out to 112$. Activation fee is 25$ and plan for first month is 50$. So total is 100 + taxes ~= 112$
Nice, glad it worked out.

When I reach out to TMOBILE, they said that simple choice plans are not valid for this promotion. Can any one got this offer who has joined in simple choice plan.

Is anyone using a different SIM on the phone bought through this deal? Will it affect the rebate if you do? I know some people mentioned they did this last year and got their rebates without a problem. Is there anything specific in the terms that say you become ineligible if u use a different SIM before getting the rebate?

One of my friend did this on Samsung (last year $ 750 deal).. He had issues getting it unlocked. I would recommend going safe..Is your other SIM on T mobile as well ?

I added one SquareTrade warranty for $120. My kind sales rep told me not to register it unless something happened and then I would be able to use it on whichever one of the two phones got damaged (he didn't tell me this until well after I made the final decision to only buy the warranty on the phone for my son).

Since I activated the Magenta plan on two lines, I am paying $120/month until I can cancel. I just remembered he was supposed to give me a 3rd SIM card since it was free but we all ended up forgetting during the process. Annoying since I could have used an extra SIM but not the end of the world - not sure they can do anything about it if I go back. Still, I may contact the rep tomorrow.
AFIK - T-Mobile changed this to buy 3 lines get 4th free (vs buy 2 and get 3rd free).

Interesting tip about SquareTrade - I wish I knew that Smilie

I have a phone for my mom, I won't actually port it until sometime after Thanksgiving, in early December. So I will submit with the temporary number, then make sure I don't port until after the gift card is sent. Just in case ....
Please note - I had chatted with T-Mobile about porting afterwards (since my daughter was away). They said free porting could be done within 14 days of getting new service - that was enough time for me. I don't know how much they charge for porting after this initial window.

For unlocking purposes, does the new purchased phone need to stay linked to the IMEI that was registered under? In other words, can I port in my number, but then transfer the SIM to another device and leave the new phone unused, so to keep the new phone unused? Will that still be eligible for unlock later?

I've never done any trade-in programs at Costco or with T-Mobile. Every offer I've done (Verizon/Pixel/Samsung) you've just mailed the phone back in after filling out info online. Is it the same with this offer?

I read somewhere within the threads of having to have the physical trade-in with you at Costco, is this the case?

at minimum you need the imei of the trade in. But that all depends on the rep that you get.
They inspect the phone (fill out your imei number for the trade)
and they gave you a sheet with 3 sections, one is the shipping label.
You ship it out on your own.

Damn that sucks. To tight of a deadline to order some phones online. Weird they outsourced the inspection process to resellers at Costco.
