Always need to consider the transfer fee for balances transfers, and should be included in this post.

"There is a balance transfer fee of either $5 or 3% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater."
EDIT FROM MAY 2021-- THIS POST IS TWO YEARS OLD. THE CARD IT MENTIONS IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE TO BE OPENED.

PLEASE STOP REPLYING TO A TWO YEAR OLD POST WONDERING WHY YOU CAN NOT FIND THIS SPECIFIC CARD/DEAL ANYMORE.

Chase Slate is only 15 months but 0% balance transfer fee.

The slate itself sucks as a card to actually use for anything other than the BT, but if you're mainly concerned about the BT, and the 3 extra months won't kill you, it saves you 3% of however much you're transferring over this... plus once you're done with the BT you can product change it into a genuinely useful card like a Freedom or something.
After years of being on airline miles cards I switched to this card. I am very happy with it. Airline miles are worth an average of 1.3 cents per dollar spent these days. This card is worth 2 cents per dollar to me as a shopper. It takes VERY little effort to redeem the 2% cash back. I enjoy the value and simplicity of this card. I find the citi web site and mobile app to be stronger than alternative bank sites and apps. I don't have the time or desire to manage multiple cards.

People sign up for this card not because of its lack of a sign up bonus...

Balance transfer fees should be called a trick-fee!
You are basically pre-paying paying interest (aka transfer fee) on the entire amount upfront for the entire year. You have pre-paid the interest on the entire amount, even the part that is paid off every month.

This card has been dead since the moment Citi decided to remove all the benefits of using a credit card.
Take a look at this before you apply https://slickdeals.net/f/11641971-psa-citi-double-cash-major-changes-to-cardholder-benefits

Basically you gain zero point five percent CB over other standard 1.5% CCs like freedom unlimited, C1 QuickSilver, AMEX CashMagnet, etc and you lose essential benefits like signup bonus, extended warranty on most of your purchases (since Citi had the great idea to remove it this year) which all the other cards still offer.
If you need the card to transfer a balance Chase Slate is a better alternative (No transfer fee), credit card benefits with similar cashback rate? all the ones I previously listed

What's the max for Slate transfer? If I have other chase cards can I transfer the available balance from the other cards to the slate card?

I have this card because I product changed from another Citi card I had before, but I would wait until the sign up bonus comes around before wasting a credit pull on this card. Not sure why it's on the featured page.

Had this card for several years and it is OK. Price matching and very long extended warranties have been deleted. 2% is still nice.

At this time I am having a scam issue with an online company that is 3 months into the process with no resolution. Other than this one issue it has been a solid card.

I'm not a vet or service member. I actually opened a bank account on an invitation from a family member, who is also not a vet. No stolen valor here or anything like that - I don't think they require it, at least they didn't for me. That said, my father was a member (and retired military) and this invitation came from my sister. I have never been asked (as far as I can remember) about whether I was military or not. If I were asked, I would have said "NO". At the time, I only opened the account to help her out because they had some promo where she got $50.00 for the referral and I also got $50.00 for opening the account. I've never used the checking/savings accounts and only more recently opened credit cards with them.

Update: I checked and you are correct - you have to be a veteran, service member or have an immediate family member who is a member. I guess my path was via an immediate family member inviting me to join. Sorry, didn't realize they restricted it.
There you have it. All children, wives, vets, military count for membership at Navy Federal.

Family Members
We know military families also serve in their own way. Immediate family members include:

Parents
Grandparents
Spouses
Siblings
Children (including adopted and stepchildren)
Grandchildren
Household members
Cats, dogs, birds, rats, racoons, live in bums etc.

24/7/365 support with a live person on the phone if you open a bank account there. Some advanced service functions are only available 0800 or after for banking. Secure place to do business BTW.

Great place to do business as it is one of the last military only Federal credit unions still around.

I have this card for a while and I love it. Loved it more with the price rewind as you could price match your purchase up to 2 months. Now they got rid of it. I would make extra 5K, later 2.5K than 1K and nothing now. I would max that out which was huge.

I still love the 90 day protection, I used it few times no problems, and love the 2% back. Still love the card but was definitely better with price rewind benefit.

this 2% cash back card is useful wherever we could see 1% cash back from other cards.
paying utility bills/insurance bills-no credit card offers more then 1%, so these standard 2% cash back cards are useful. I am using PayPal master credit card 2% unlimited everywhere.
