For those unfamiliar with the technology, air "fryers" are a bit of a misnomer. Nothing's actually getting fried (to fry you actually need to submerge the food in hot oil). These are really just super compact convection ovens where hot air is circulated all around the food. They're great for cutting down cooking time of anything you would normally put in an oven (chicken nuggets, cheesy bread, etc.) and great for reheating previously fried foods. For the latter, it never tastes quite as good as when it was freshly out of the fryer, but it gets it dang close.

Also, I do not recommend putting food on foil in this thing. The tray has holes and is there to help circulate the hot air all around including the bottom.

Also note that your cooking time will be drastically decreased when compared to oven cooking times, so take that into account when setting the time and temperature.

Hope that helps someone!
Wow. $10 cheaper than Costco's BF Price!
I have this and love it. Ordering a couple more for gifts.

I don't recall getting TWO crisping trays when I bought mine. That must be a recent change.

based on the youtube videos I have watched,
gourmia costco is selling now, it doesn't have a insert bucket but bestbuy bella pro has it.
it makes a lot different if put it to the considerations.
costco's gourmia does give more accessories
Maybe we're looking at different Bella air fryers. The one I looked at (Bella model 90085 [bestbuy.com]) on Best Buy for $49.99 and who's user manual [bellahousewares.com] I looked at indicate its similar to the Gourmia unit with a single basket (no secondary removable basket) and the use of a crisper tray.

Both 6 qt units have a single removable fryer basket and both use a crisping tray. The Gourmia unit has a stainless steal front/sides where as the Best Buy Bella model is all black.

The more expensive (at the moment) Bella - Pro Series 5.3 qt. Digital Air Fryer - Stainless Steel Model:90065 [bestbuy.com] is on sale for $74.99 at Best Buy. It looks almost identical to the Costco Gourma unit and it does have a secondary removable basket inside the fryer basket. But its 5.3 qt not 6 qt.

you are totally right.
i just realized the youtube I watched even it shows bella 6QT but the model is actually 5.3QT.
so in this case, costco's gourmia will be much better deal since it comes more accessories.

sorry and thanks for the info. repped.

It has a removable basket - you press the button on the handle to seperate the basket from the bin.
I just returned mine to Costco. The basket is not dish washer proof. It is different from the equivalent model sold by other retailers. The handle does not detach. Even the manual is different.

My local Costco cannot keep this darn thing in stock (Alhambra, CA). Yesterday, 2 pallets of 18 sold out in 30 mins! So now I gotta order 1 online now. Eager to try this out. Thanks & repped. Smilie

Can you or anyone else who has used this model comment on how noisy it is? Thanks.
I picked one up last year. I run it in the bathroom with the ceiling vent on so the food smell doesn't permeate the house (I usually cook fish in it). The fan is nearly but not as loud as the bathroom ceiling vent. I mostly close the bathroom door when using it so the noise isn't a problem. (And since others have asked, the beep is loud enough to hear through the closed door).

One of my friends used this fryer for cooking chicken (may be with little indian masalas) there was plastic smell all over kitchen and beyond and the chicken itself smell a bit plastic as well.
Yeah, I suggest running a heavy extension cord outside into your backyard patio, and running it there the first few times. I tried running it in my bathroom as described above, and the plastic smell was strong enough it still lingered in the bathroom even after a day with the ceiling vent on.

I had the plastic smell and took out the rubber pieces around the crisping tray and haven't had that smell since. It is very loud as other people have said, but the time it cooks makes up for that. It's also very simple to use if you have kids who want to heat up some corndogs or pizza rolls.

The thing I didn't like about it is when I cooked a Totinos pizza in it, it didn't get crispy on the bottom. I had to look up online how to fix that. Apparently you cut some foil the same size as the pizza, spray some pam, then have it toppings side down in the foil, cook it crust side up for 5 min. After, flip it over take the foil off and cook the top of the pizza. It's a few tedious steps but the pizza came out good and crispy.

Never heard of frying a pizza. Typically you bake pizza in a 400+ degree oven. A standard oven, even a toaster oven , would be best suited for that. 😊

Did a local grocery store brand single serving frozen pizza in the Gourmia and it turned out well. Crisp bottom, moist interior crust, melted and slightly browned toppings. Used the default pizza setting on the Gourmia. Was surprised it came out tasting pretty good for a cheep $1 store bought frozen pizza.

I have the new KitchenAid convection oven. I wanted to try food out in both the air fryer and the convection oven. The air fryer was faster cooking that little Totino's pizza.

Which is better of the 3 Air Fryers?

Gourmia 6QT Digital Air Fryer
Nuwave Brio 6QT Air Fryer
Instant™ Vortex™ 6-Quart 4-in-1 Air Fryer

They all seem to be in the same price range with upcoming BF. Need help deciding which one to get.

With Kohl's 40% Mystery Code and $10 off $50 and $10 Kohls Cash it brings it close to the price range of the other 2. Now the decision of which one.
