Digital movie question...

119 158 November 9, 2019 at 10:34 AM
So I have been fighting with a code seller about and he sent me some list of codes showing the code he sent me had 0/3 used. How does a movie have 3 uses? It this a hacked code?

If some of these digital movie codes have three uses then that explains how I've managed to redeem for streaming copies of quite a few movies after buying the physical version pre-owned. Like just last week I got John Wick on Blu-Ray and DVD and the UltraViolet code (redeemable on Vudu) still worked.

Studios don't know which streaming service you use, so they try to cover all the bases. A single digital copy code technically could have 3 uses to be redeemed at different streaming services: one for Apple iTunes, one for MoviesAnywhere, and one for Google/Vudu. Collectors sometimes buy the 4Ks and Blu-rays and sell the digital code to offset their physical disc costs. Then someone realized they could "split" the code and basically sell those codes multiple times to pay for the entire purchase price of the Blu-ray.

Anyone know how you can get a view of the number of code uses that are used and how many are left? He had some chart
