What a stressful deal, don't know when I should ship the trade-in phone while having issues submitting the rebate

Where does it say in fine print that "you must use the new phone with the new line"? I think once the new line is activated and active TM shouldn't care which sim goes into which phone. The Costco rep even told me to wait maybe 24 hrs before swapping sim cards. So I would suggest using the new phone with the new sim for a day or two (i.e. make calls, send texts, go online, etc.) before putting your old sim into the new phone.
Anyone experiencing this? I would like to switch sim and still get the rebate. I did use the iPhone 11 pro a few days and would like to switch my main phone number to the new iPhone 11 pro.
Anyone who did the promotion other time mind chiming in if you can switch sim and still get the rebate? Line itself is still active

I'm not able to register for the promotion either. IMEI not valid (iphone 11 space gray). Called t-mobile... the CSR pretty much admitted they don't know what the problem and how long it will take to fix. Asked me to keep trying every couple of days... if the issue is still not fixed after 30days, then CSR can submit them manually.. until then asked me to keep trying.
That's just dumb on their part. Normal customer service should work like this: if you can't do it yourself, the CSR should open a case, take your IMEI and have their technical people walk through entering it and then debugging their damn software. It's that simple. Refusing to open a case and walking through it while admitting not knowing what the problem is is just not how it's supposed to be done.

I went to 2 Costcos in So Cal. The first one had a line of 15 edgy people. The other one had no line. The salesman claimed the deal includes no rebate card and I can only the 24 monthly bill thing. Furthermore, he had no idea what color phones they had and wasn't too keen on finding out. He looked for 10 minutes online with another dbag salesman like himself and still couldn't find out and kept insisting he'd have to have it mailed to me instead of have me pick it up at the store. He was also very cagey about 128 GB which is what I want. He kept insisting they only do the base model. There was so much negativity that I realized it was just asking for trouble. I am already having second thoughts. This thing is just way too convoluted.

I sent my old iPhone back to TMO before I finish the steps on TMO "Promotion" website. I thought this should be OK.

got 2 iphone 11 128gb at costco $680ea
had to open 2 new lines. BOGO on the lines, so the 2nd new line is free. huge plus since it saves me about $40 after i get my gift cards and cancel the 2 lines

$112 in tax + $40 ($20 a month) = $152 total to upgrade 2 iphones

What plan is it? The plans I see are nothing that low for 2 lines. Most everything is geared for at least 4 lines.

I had a great salesman today but man! the process took 3! hours. First I waited for about 40 minutes to get to talk to the guy. Then he started with the credit check and it hit a snag for some reason, so we had to call in and verify some security questions ("have you ever lived at a) b) c) etc.") and then the credit check went through.

Now for some reason the Membership Wireless system would not let the sale proceed (it wasn't clear to me why) because the credit check was not showing up in their system, even though T-mobile had approved it. Then there was some more back and forth and finally the sale was approved.

Next I had to stand in the long line of turkey shoppers to actually buy the phone at one of the check stands. Then I had to pick up the phone from the Costco store room. Then wait for a "runner" as Costco will not let shoppers walk the phone back to the Wireless kiosk.

Finally it took almost another hour before the sale was completed. Again this involved 2 calls to T-mobile where the kiosk guy wanted Tmobile to create an account with a dummy IMEI so he could add it and the T-mobile guys refused. According to the kiosk guy the were 'trying to steal the sale' (something about how the sales reps get commissioned).

Eventually he gave up (and I think he let the T-mobile guys steal his commission). Then I had to sign in a zillion places, as if I was buying a car. He then printed out the RMA label for returning the trade in and gave me a nice plastic bag to carry all the paperwork and the phone.

The kiosk rep was a pro though and new all about the promo. My iphone 7 priced out at a low $68 and he said that was good, as that would be rebated as T-mobile credits whereas the remainder would get paid out as a rebate MC. He also did not waste any time on trying to upsell accessories and protection plans.

I purchased an iphone11 and got a new line of service with a new phone number. The phone is now active.. I want to port in a number from another carrier. Should I submit the rebate before or after the port in?

I'm asking because the T-mobile promotion page says:

Bringing a phone number to T-Mobile? Please wait until your number is active on our network before continuing. The temporary number assigned to you at activation is not compatible with our promotions.

Exactly this is why I'm returning mine... there's no guarantee they fix in a week. Meanwhile they're buying time from the frame when you can get rebate and u can't return. I'm worried about returning mine cuz they had to open them all to activate. Guy said 14 days so better not give me a hard time

Why are so many stuck on two year rebate? I've been with T-Mobile for 15+ years! Still haven't found a cheaper plan for 5, and with easily the best international options.
