Can anyone clear something up. I have read the Wiki several times and it does not clarify. When porting in from another carrier (Verizon), will I have my existing phone # and a new number from T Mobile Is that correct? I understand the wiki says it supports dual sim "Phone supports dual sim, so put your current ph# on the Esim (just go to a Tmobile store and ask) and the sim card with your new # in the phone. Do you have to "go back into a T Mobile" store because the porting doesn't happen instantaneously? I just need to be 100% confident I can retain my existing VZ phone # for the 40/41 days it takes to receive the gift card. Then I will simply cancel and port back to VZ
Do I have this correct?
You are assigned a new number. You call Tmobile and port in the Verizon number if you wish to replace the existing Tmobile and cancel your Verizon line, overwriting your tmo number with your existing number. The business about dual sims is if you want to keep the Verizon line active— moving the tmo number to the esim would allow you to keep tmo line active using the new tmo number AND use your Verizon sim on the new phone. I've never done this and not speaking to it's functionality, rather clarifying porting vs dual simming.

Quick question. Not sure if I added a plan that qualifies for the rebate. Rep allowed me to add 1 more line to the Tmobile One Unlimited 55 account. He said I signed up at the right time and was eligible to add a third line. Paperwork shows proposed offer price for $104 and not $700. Is this line eligible or do I need to go back and redo the sign up? Thanks!!!

I don't know anything about dual sim or e-sim but porting in a number means you take that number over to the new network. So you will have your verizon number on tmobile after you port to tmobile. After you get the rebate you will need to port it back to Verizon if you still want that number.

Why did u have to port google numbers?Aren't they able to create a new tmo lines for you at Costco? Is it more expensive creating a new line vs. porting?
Because I think boost needs porting to get phones for low price like iPhone 8 used phones in good condition for $29.99, else straight purchase of phone from boost is expensive

The scenario you listed above only works if you are already on Tmo and want to keep your existing TMo number while opening up a new line/number. Remember, the phone is locked to Tmo for at least 40 days, so you can't use a Verizon sim on it until you get the phone unlocked. Once it's unlocked, then you can add a Verizon physical sim to the phone (while movinge your Tmo number over to the esim). You then wait for the rebate to arrive and can cancel the Tmo line/account. You can't cancel the new Tmo line until you get that rebate.

can I have a question about 40 days unlock? does it require 40 days continuous connection to Tmobile network or I just activate it first and shut it down, at the 41st day I could have it unlocked as far as I pay the bill?

I don't see why not. As long as you activate/register it with Tmo...and pay your bill...I don't think it matters whether the phone is on or off.
