-Simple Choice is NOT eligible. No, your account isn't special. It won't work. You have to change plans
-If you don't walk out of the store w/ the new Iphone in your hand, you will get bill credits. Which means you are stuck for 2 years and the extra you're paying for the line lessens this deal.
-Deal is $500 rebate for 6s phones, $700 for iPhone 7 and beyond. If you have an iPhone 6 or lower, you're getting no rebate. End of story. There are no loopholes or "what ifs".
-Phone screen can't be cracked. Not a "what about a little crack in the corner" comment. It will be rejected. Same goes for "what about a home button not working." Try it, but don't be surprised when it gets rejected. It's your $700 gamble. Stop asking if it will work.
-If your screen is cracked, get it fixed by a 3rd party place before sending in. It's typically less than $100
-Phone can be unlocked after 40 days w/ a request to Tmobile, and then used with any wireless service.
-Can't cancel line until you get your rebate; then go ahead and cancel or port out. Rebate takes 2-3 months to get
-Phone supports dual sim, so put your current ph# on the Esim (just go to a Tmobile store and ask) and the sim card with your new # in the phone. Yes, you can now have 2 numbers on new iPhones. Then you don't risk the phone # not being active while waiting for the rebate.
-If you want a cheap iPhone 7, look on the internet. Don't be lazy. Otherwise try a boost mobile store and read the "instore promo" offers on their website. Some are shady, so ask everything they're charging you for.
-Lastly, don't trust the Costco wireless reps. Hundreds of people here have done this and similar deals. They know better than any rep you will meet, as they've all done these deals.
My local store didn't have the iPhone 11 in stock and I was told I'd still get the GC rebate. After reading all the paperwork, when I got home, this isn't the case. Had to go back to cancel the line and wait for the phone shipment to arrive to go back and return that (which you have to mail yourself with the label provided). 2 weeks later, EIP is still on my account.
This is ABSOLUTELY wrong
ANY listed phone, ANY carrier.....as long as its in good condition and not icloud locked

So does any expert know what all can go wrong here or is this is a non-problem?
Other phone was boost and was listed as generic on trade in form... it was also having value 31..
But today tmobile told me devices received are different than devices on tradein.. they have to approve $29 instead of $31 of originally listed devices...
So u understand there was no problem with wrong carrier or change of carrier..
I am not worried about $2 .. I was mainly concerned what got changed... If the reduced value still keep the rebate process same then i am fine..
when you get your rebate card message of approval (usually text msg from T-Mo), you click the link they give and then activate your rebate card. it does ask you which phone number you are (not sure if it matters to match previous documented or not).
on the same site of the rebate card you can see your balance. there is a 'Access$' tab or even on the dashboard tab. it will say 'Transfer'
it will ask you for your bank routing info. it will then ask you how much to transfer.
done. no fees.
if you have multiple rebate cards to drain, you need to remove your bank info each time after you initiate the transfer of funds. you cannot have your bank info attached to more than one rebate card account at the same time. to remove it, do the same procedure, but this time it will already show your bank info. just remove it.

Good info anyways
If I opt for EIP, I will get the amount on monthly bill credits.
Anyone tried this?
If you're ok with bill credits, then get it shipped.
I picked up a new iPhone yesterday with trade in of iPhone 7 that I bought online. The trade in phone was fine and I could access mail phone screens (settings etc), and there was no pass code or icloud signed in. I did factory reset to be doubly sure to remove any issues; now I'm unable to get the phone to activate. I tried restoring the phone using iTunes but it's not working. Has anyone sent their trade in phone with similar status, and got credit approved?
Thanks!
When I start the phone, it shows Hello screen. I'm able to select language, choose location, and connect to a Wi-Fi network; however, once I select Set up manually, the phone shows "It may take a few minutes to activate your iPhone", and after a while shows "Unable to Activate - .. activation server is temporarily unavailable...".
I tried activating via iTunes as well, as well as update / restore, both with and without T-Mobile SIM, but with no success. I'm coming back to iPhone after years and don't understand if I'm doing something wrong, or could it simply be that I need SIM of a particular carrier. Since I was able to erase the phone, and it doesn't ask for a pass code, I believe there's no activation lock.
The phone was showing normal screens (I didn't put a SIM card) before I followed instructions on t-mobile website to erase all content and settings. Also, the phone didn't have any icloud account logged in. The phone was bought as unlocked from Walmart.com and ting.com shows the phone is unlocked.
