Jeez...

-Simple Choice is NOT eligible. No, your account isn't special. It won't work. You have to change plans

-If you don't walk out of the store w/ the new Iphone in your hand, you will get bill credits. Which means you are stuck for 2 years and the extra you're paying for the line lessens this deal.

-Deal is $500 rebate for 6s phones, $700 for iPhone 7 and beyond. If you have an iPhone 6 or lower, you're getting no rebate. End of story. There are no loopholes or "what ifs".

-Phone screen can't be cracked. Not a "what about a little crack in the corner" comment. It will be rejected. Same goes for "what about a home button not working." Try it, but don't be surprised when it gets rejected. It's your $700 gamble. Stop asking if it will work.

-If your screen is cracked, get it fixed by a 3rd party place before sending in. It's typically less than $100

-Phone can be unlocked after 40 days w/ a request to Tmobile, and then used with any wireless service.

-Can't cancel line until you get your rebate; then go ahead and cancel or port out. Rebate takes 2-3 months to get

-Phone supports dual sim, so put your current ph# on the Esim (just go to a Tmobile store and ask) and the sim card with your new # in the phone. Yes, you can now have 2 numbers on new iPhones. Then you don't risk the phone # not being active while waiting for the rebate.

-If you want a cheap iPhone 7, look on the internet. Don't be lazy. Otherwise try a boost mobile store and read the "instore promo" offers on their website. Some are shady, so ask everything they're charging you for.

-Lastly, don't trust the Costco wireless reps. Hundreds of people here have done this and similar deals. They know better than any rep you will meet, as they've all done these deals.
Please make sure that you buy the phone outright, meaning limited colors and storage options.

My local store didn't have the iPhone 11 in stock and I was told I'd still get the GC rebate. After reading all the paperwork, when I got home, this isn't the case. Had to go back to cancel the line and wait for the phone shipment to arrive to go back and return that (which you have to mail yourself with the label provided). 2 weeks later, EIP is still on my account.
You are talking CRAP.....stop telling untruths.

This is ABSOLUTELY wrong

ANY listed phone, ANY carrier.....as long as its in good condition and not icloud locked

1) Is it OK if it is shipped before 30 days or does Assurant need to have the phone with them in 30 days? I have an issue with the rep opening an account under an incorrect plan and trying to get it fixed.

Thanks

Yes all those paper work is correct ? I even shared the Purchase receipt of the iPhone iPhone 6s with Serial # and IMEI number matching the paper work from Costco, yet they say they received an iPhone 6 instead of iPhone 6s. The point is I accepted a lower trade in value on 12/21 and told them if I have received the trade in credit that mean I have satisfied the trade in requirement . Now they I was given a lower trade in because I sent an iPhone 6 instead of an iPhone 6s. But I sent 4 iPhone 6s and accepted lower trade in value for all my 4 phones. I got rebate for 3 of the phones but they are giving me a tough time for the 4th line. 😔😔
Ask T-mobile for the IMEI of the iPhone "6" they claim you sent them. If it is the same as your iPhone 6s, problem solved (T-mobile entered your tradein data wrong). If it is different from the iPhone 6s you sent them, you can check that IMEI at imei24.com to see the detail info (including the phone model, capacity, color and network etc.) of the phone.

The guy who signed up my new iphone phone didn't sign any new (separated) plan for me. He added to my existing lines. So no Magenta plan or anything. Just a standard $20 add on to my Simple Choice family. I didn't know about these until I signed in to my account today. I already sent my iphone for trade in and I did it on 1/2/2020.

What should I do now?
Change your existing account into a qualify plan, or create another account (use a friend/family's SSN?) to move the trade-in line over? In any case, contact Tforce at FB or Twitter for help,

Sent in 4 phones right after Christmas. 2 posted bill credits the 5th of January, but no sign on the others yet. Should I be worried?

Thanks. I can't believe he didn't add any new plan for me. He should be well aware of this promo that required a qualified plan. He did instruct me on how to do MIR and trade-in, so he should know that I needed to add a new Magenta plan (at least) to get qualified.

I can't afford to change my existing account to a qualified plan. The bill will be double if I convert all lines to Magenta. I can't create another account. I already filled in the MIR under my (existing) name and account, along with the trade-in.

During the signup, I told him I wanted a completely new line. He kept insisting that he needed my current line (along with my SSN) so he could check on my existing account if I am qualified or not. I walked away with just the phone payment because I thought I would expect a new bill on "Postpaid" Magenta. (I didn't know Magenta was a prepaid plan, at that time).

I'm a bit confused with your situation. You have an account with T-Mobile (not a magenta plan) and you wanted to do this promo by adding a line that would ONLY be a magenta line? It doesn't work that way.

The whole account has to be magenta. I can't have a T-Mobile one plan and then go to Costco for this deal and say 'add a line as a magenta line'

Procedure to Unlock after at least 40 days of service:
If its been more than 40 days with tmobile sim card active on the phone the easiest is to contact T-Force on Twitter (@TMobileHelp) or Facebook asking them to unlock the device. You need following details,
IMEI, PhoneNumber and Email
You will receive a email saying the unlock has been processed.
Wait for another 48 hours (as per instructions in email) and try to insert another carrier simcard.

Other ways to check the phone is unlocked (If you don't have another carrier simcard handy).

How reliable is this?

https://www.xfinity.com/mobile/by...ity/device

In other words, How frequently it's backend database is updated? Any idea.

I have unlocked 3 of my phones yesterday evening and they accepted an International SIM and Settings>>General>>About>>Network showed me ATT network (International carrier has roaming agreements with ATT) and I could also send a TEXT to that phone.
Am I all set for unlocking?

Or I shall still worry if XFINITY link show device still need to be Unlocked from T-Mobile?

I did not want to add any line to my existing account. He's the one that asked for my current account "just to verify if you are qualified". I asked him that I wanted to open a new Magenta line just for this promo, not to add in a new line to my existing account.

He should be well aware that adding a new line to my existing (Simple Choice) will not work but he did it anyway. He printed out all the MIR and trade-in paperwork, he should know that adding a line to my existing (Simple Choice) will not work, but why kept going with it?

Rec'd my $510 gift card this week.

But have not rec'd the $190 credit that TM said I would get for the trade in yet. That came in a text direct from TM right after I bought the new phone and added line in early Dec.

Should I be concerned?

fyi - they rec'd the phone according to USPS on Dec 28th.

Ok, now I understand.
So you wanted to open a whole new account with 1 line under an eligible rate plan but the rep did it with simple choice.

Yea, he messed up.
Some reps are doing 'shady' things like this because they know people will cancel the line after they get the rebate. I'm not saying he wasn't knowledgeable in the offer and maybe he WAS clueless but from reading comments here, it seems like some reps mess something up because they think the customer will cancel right away.

Where do I enter my trade-in RMA number to see the status? All 4 of my old phones were delivered to Assurant 5 days ago (per the USPS tracking) and want to make sure the devices are being reviewed. Thanks.

The best way to check that is through your T-Mobile account. Check there and see if you've received bill credits for your devices.

You said the devices were delivered five days ago, and if you don't see bill credits, I would call them because you may need to accept a lower trade-in value for your phones and until you accept, the bill credits won't show up in you account.

Not sure about rma but check the promotions T-Mobile page. You log in and each status should be there

Honestly speaking I am not sure. I just picked up that link somewhere from this thread.
As far as I know, a phone can be international-only unlocked. So just because its working with international sim doesn't guarantee its unlocked with USA carriers too. Just saying.
