Nest is good if you don't have C-wire but it's doesn't work with smartthings. There are also some issues with the power stealing with Nest if you install it without C-wire.

I have two Ecobees and I like them a lot because I can control them via smart things.
Doesn't the Ecobee come with some adaptor that allows you to use it if you don't have a c-wire? Not sure how that works or if it only works on certain furnaces.

Do you also need nest temperature sensors with the thermostat if you have a multi story house? I got a thermostat yesterday with 2 Sensors for 179, so wondering if sensors are really required?
Where did you find that deal? Sounds like exactly what I need!

Does anyone know if the Nest or Ecobee works better with smart vents? I want to be able to use them and wondered which one works better with them. Thanks.

Did you mean to say "Nest is useless if you don't have c wire?" Cuz that what stop me from getting it...
Nest does work without C-wire but there are issues with power stealing. Nest without C-wire uses Rc power, which might keep the system up even when it's not supposed to.

I can only imagine there's some $18/hour intern overseeing the Costco website who's been freaking out for the past four hours.

I installed ecobee 4 last week and it does have option for fan to run minimum time while in Auto from 5 min to 55 min
That's a minimum number of minutes it will run per hour - if set, it repeats every hour, right? I want to run the fan for say 15 minutes while cooking and have it turn off without me having to go back into the app to do so
