I usually see 360's have quieter operation than 280's despite having roughly the same performance. One particular advantage for 360's in my opinion is you could use the best radiator fans ever, the Nocuta NF-A12x25's x3. Their performance vs. noise is unbeatable, at any size.

$28 for just 1 is very high, I would wait for the price to come down. I bought a 2-pack for $29 - unfortunately they're currently OOS on that one at the moment.
Here's my approximation for performance from 240 to 280 to 360.
360 = 100pts
280 = 90 pts
240 = 70pts
If someone does the math of surface area, would be more accord. The 360mm radiator has better cooling, however the 280mm is not that far behind. The jump from 240mm to 280mm is more significant.
I think the 2x140mm setup is best bang, but of course the 360mm has a slight advantage, but not significantly.
