as a Yukon owner; beware it is BIG.... if i could go back i'd buy the smaller one. you need a lot of wood to keep the yukon going. if you have a lot of wood and space it makes an awesome fire tho!

these don't make your typical lazy fire this is a full on air fueled inferno.

also these things do rust. i dunno if it is just surface rust or what but the inside of mine (where it has gotten fire on it) definitely shows corrosion of some kind. to protect it from further damage i bring mine in the shed when not in use (which you better be pretty strong with a decent wingspan if you wanna do it regularly with the yukon).

i thought bigger is always better i am here to say with these bigger is REALLY FREAKIN BIG. to get a proper smoke free fire you need to really quite a bit of wood to get this thing hot and then to keep it fed; it takes more wood than i want to use most of the time (but i don't have tons of wood) YMMV.

and to those who say this doesn't put out heat; i have no idea what you mean. maybe not quite as much as a regular fire since the sides are enclosed but you can still singe your leg hairs if you sit close to this if it is going well! with enough wood you can make it scary hot...

I thought about buying the Bonfire until I saw this review. Radiant heat would be my top reason for needing a fire. I guess I'll be sticking to my Biolite Firepit that I got at an REI garage sale.

Ran to Kroger, bought $700 of Lowes gift cards. Totals 2800 fuel points, or enough for a free tank of gas in my gas guzzler (about $70). Bought 2 Yukon's w/ stand. Great deal.

Would a ranger sufficent for just two people ? People keep saying bigger is better so just wanna see what's your opinion as a owner

I have the Bonfire one, and it was a great purchase. True to its word it is smokeless, so no stinky clothes. Great for roasting marshmallow with the kids - even with just a small fire in it.

For camping the smaller ones are better, as you can put a pot on them easily, and they burn less fuel.

not quite double you have to pay tax at lowes and you are comparing a sale price to the standard price they were on sale up until last night also. The bottom line is they are not even close to equivalent products but if all you care about is the price tag this isn't the product for you anyways.

Same reason I'm not going to spend this much to just stare at a fire pit. I would be sold if it threw off a decent amount of heat.
