Bought a few, 14.37 seems pretty low for 5 quarts of full synthetic. It says high mileage but its just extra additives

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Super-.../839552658 - now $14.88

Free 2 day shipping if you buy 3, forgot to add

Also don't use this in motorcycles with wet clutches , may cause slipping of the clutch

Is it true that you shouldn't switch back and forth between conventional and fill synthetic oil? I've heard once you start using full synthetic you should stick with it.

Sounds the kind of misinformation you'd spread if you wanted to keep people using the expensive stuff, but IDK.

Why would you switch back and forth?

That is an old myth, you can switch back and forth, or even mix them with zero issues.

You can get full synthetic for less than twice the price of standard oil (every day, not even on sale) and it lasts around twice as long and protects better the entire time.

If one is buying oil, they are (presumably) changing it themselves, which means fewer changes, which means that much time and effort saved, which is easily worth the cost difference alone.

Standard oil really doesn't protect all that well, especially after the first 1k miles or so, especially at low temperatures. Most engine wear for most drivers occurs when the engine is cold at startup, and the additives that keep the oil thin at cold temps (and thick at warm temps) in standard oil aren't at high enough concentrations to last an entire oil change, unlike full synthetics which maintain consistent performance through the change interval. Watch youtube videos on the topic. The difference is significant.

Standard oil isn't worth the savings, in many ways. If you have someone change it for you, I recommend having it changed more than every 3k miles if you don't get full synthetic, especially in cold weather, especially on higher mileage vehicles.

I stock up on full synthetic. I never pay more than this amount and typically less with MIR. For someone on this website that changes their own oil i don't see why you would change back and forth. If this amount is reasonable for you then you likely see an advantage to full synthetic. If that is true then why would you ever bother with anything less? Also that is an old wives tale. The argument is that increased detergents in higher quality oil can cause leaks to occur by breaking up sludge that may be clogging leaks. If there is sludge clogging your leaks you likely have bigger problems than your leaks.

But synthetic lasts way longer than conventional. Cost per month is probably lower than conventional.

Do you use the same brand or just go with whatever's on sale?

Do you guys know who makes Supertech oil? I know their oil filters are made by Purolator. Which is a great brand.
