EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

So, I got a similar offer from one of my amex cards through my email for quicken loans, the same $2500 credit BUT, nothing showing anywhere to add it to either of my cards.

The problem is, of course, quicken loans rates are terrible and Better.com beats them by almost a full percent. Any have any luck calling AMEX to get some clarification on this deal? I will be trying sometime after work tonight and report back either way.

Seems like the poster above me has the same question. I may just go through with this through better.com anyways since I was in the process of refinancing and they have the same rate as somewhere else.

I just used better.com to refinance in August great company easy to do. Closing day they send a notary right to your house.

I'm just kicking off the refi process. I bought a house last year near the peak of rates and am in a 30 year 4.75% loan and I'm paying PMI (cheap--$27/mo) since I'm at 18% down. The upside is that property values in my area have jumped significantly, and my home SHOULD assess over 80% LTV.

I wasn't impressed with Better.com's rates when I looked last month, and I'm still not now. But with a $2500 credit, I can buy enough points to get my net cost low enough that I'm actually beating any other rate quotes I've gotten (3.625%). Very tempted here.
It's best to call a speak with a rep. I refinanced with them a couple of months ago and they have lower rates they offer (buy points) but for some reason they don't show them on the site.

How was the process? If you don't mind share, what length/rate did you end up with?

Thanks!

Yes, it did.
Are you sure the offer showed in your Amex offers section.

I got the email, clicked through, started the application, and still don't see anything in my offers section on amex.com.

Yes, it did. That is how I first became aware of the deal. BUT it never showed up in my "added or redeemed" section.

Landed on 3.25 fixed for 30 years.

The people are super friendly. The process was pretty easy. A bit of a pain in the butt just because of all the info you have to provide. They asked for stuff like a HR contact at work, copy of HOA statement, & home owner's insurance renewal letter. It seemed over the top but I guess lots of people are trying for loans that they can't afford.

Would they keep the loan or they sell it to some bank eventually ? How does this work ? They want to pull credit which I dont want before i Know I want to go with them.

Make sure to use a mortgage broker to do a loan. They shop around for the best interest rates for you with many different lenders to find you the best rates and the lowest costs.

If you go directly to any bank or Better, they can only offer you just their own rate. I had a friend who used Better for a purchase and said their experience was horrible. They couldn't close escrow on time with all these unnecessary delays which almost cost my friend his initial deposit, so beware

I refinanced as well as my two coworkers. My loan is still with them however my two coworkers loans were both sold after their first payment.

How much longer is your original mortgage for? If you're dropping 30% of your payment at only a quarter point lower rate, I'm guessing you're fairly into it by now. Maybe the $600/month savings is worth it to you, but keep in mind you're resetting the clock for another 15 or 30 years.
We've only had it for a year. Original mortgage was for $300k, we put a 75k down payment on it too. Maybe I'll putting in the wrong info? Hmm.

edit: nvm, our rate is 4.5%. That explains it a little bit more.

Does anyone has any idea on their refinance rate for 15 years?
