EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

I have a blue card and AMEX confirmed I am eligible so does Better. I called the number on the back of my card and inquired about this offer. They had to transfer me to a special team which confirmed. You should be good per my discussion with Amex. I will let you validate
Which department do I ask for and do you have the number?

Did this offer show up on the offer list when you log into your account?
I don't have the card yet so I need the number on the back

Okay I am about to buy a new home, so a different situation from most of you refinancing. However, I just got a 3% rate on a 30 year from another lender and asked Better to match and I was told that they cannot match until I have an executed purchase agreement. Does that seem accurate? I thought they could match, but not lock without an accepted offer, but he said no to matching at this point.

I'm on the same boat. Which state and Loan amount? Did you get 3% with points?

It's been a busy day, but wanted to report that I'm in on this and it's been a smooth process so far.
Signed up via the Amex offer link and my first emails from them confirmed the Amex info without me asking. The concierge introduced herself as "your Better Dedicated Concierge as part of the exclusive offer for eligible American Express® Card Members. Nice to meet you!"

I shopped around and ended up with the below rates (all ignoring prepaid escrow items):
Owning - 3% 30Yr with $0 total closing costs
LenderFi - 3% 30Yr with $0 total closing costs
BNC National Bank - 3% 30Yr with $500 total closing costs
First Morgage Direct - 3% 30Yr with $1k total closing costs
Home Plus Mortgage - 3% 30Yr with $1k total closing costs
Sebonic Financial - 3% 30Yr with $2k total closing costs
Lending.com - 3.125% 30Yr with $2k total closing costs

Better.com was able to match the best 3% 30Yr plus an additional $1k lender credit. Rate has been locked.

Moving from my current 3.375% 15yr to a 3% 30Yr and getting $1k net closing credit that'll be applied against my prepaid property tax and insurance. Plus the $2.5k Amex statement credit.

So far I've been happy with the smooth process and hope that continues.

Yeah cause you usually have 30 days to close, and then your rate is locked for 30 days.

It's how you save that cash. I called 5 insurance companies for home insurance, which took 40 mins each quote/call, legit the last one I called Progressive, was $400 cheaper than everyone else, double the property value, and included Flood insurance for free.

Home buying is like dealing with 1000 used car salesman. :/

I do somewhat shopping with insurance.

Of the list you have given, how many did you get online vs direct broker contact?

Assuming you're referring to my list, it was all initiated online either direct on their websites or via Zillow mortgage or some other source as a specific initial lead to get that pricing. And then of course the follow-up emails and calls. Did not do a LendingTree blast because I did not want everyone and their mother blowing up my phone. Overall it wasn't as unpleasant of an experience as I expected - most were pretty transparent and easy to work with.

Did you even save $100 a month going from 3.375% to 3.0%? I would have waited until July if I were you. This offer doesn't expire for another couple months. Powell will be announcing negative rates soon.

Actually closing is June 29, but yeah, it's fine. I just got the executed contract and sent to Better. I've been texting my contact person and he says he's on it. Hopefully no issue with him matching 3% with no points. The rate they gave me initially was 4%. What a joke. Hopefully they don't get too many suckers with those high rates.

Curious, were these rates on conforming or jumbo loans?

Conforming in California. Should've added those details, sorry about that!
