EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

I've finally gotten a chance to start getting quotes. So far the best I've gotten is the following. What do you guys think? I can't seem to get under 3 without paying points.

OWNING: 30 year, 2.99% APR, no closing costs or points

I've submitted this to better to see if they can beat it. I'm wondering if this is a good place to start or should I keep shopping around.

EDIT: Let me know if you need more info from me. Thanks!
Hey,
I also did the same but the review is still pending. I wonder how long it took them to get it cleared? Can you offer more insights?

How long did the approval process take for everyone? It's been about 2.5 weeks waiting for Better to began closing. I emailed them and they said it was due to the title company dragging their feet. I just want to get this finished ASAP.
The title report for me took two weeks to clear. The title company they used was Title365. That is likely the issue.

You did the same with owning or better? I'm still waiting on a reply from better. For owning I got my LE within an hour.

Anyone tried refinancing a secondary house with Better? What proof do they need to accept the property as 'secondary'?

I submitted an LE last Thursday to attempt to match by email, and my loan guy said he would look over it. Heard nothing all weekend. Scheduled a call Monday and they started asking for an updated LE. If you submit an LE call, and bug them. Apparently if its past 24 hours, they can request a new one. Which is highly anoying as rates went up over the weekend.

hey thanks, aimloan slightly beats better.com which should then PM +-$1000!

Better yet, they have the option to buy the rate down to 2.25% and if they let me roll those costs into the loan I'm all in

Good luck with LenderFi. The guy I got assigned to me was really evasive with providing a LE. Maybe you'll have better luck.

I used NBKC bank and Better beat it by 1k

If you have excellent credit, I would strongly recommend staying away from Better.com unless you really want the Amex cashback. From my experience in the last two days, Better is just charging a higher rate or fees that are equal to or greater than the cashback offer.

I applied with Better.com on 6/22. Better had the worst rates (by far!) out of all of the other mortgage lenders that I checked. I worked with a concierge, who told me they would match any price I received.

I sent Better.com two Loan Estimates. The first one, they agreed to match but added an $1800 lender fee in points, which was not on the other estimate. They flatly refused to match the second estimate or to honor the price match guarantee listed on the website.

Two online lenders and my local credit union offered pricing that was substantially cheaper than better.com. As a side note, I plan to list a complaint on consumerfinance.gov, BBB, and Amex for misleading information provided on their website. Hopefully, this will discourage people from using them in the future and wasting there time and applying and accessing their credit reports.

I have Amex card and received email with this offer. However mortgage is (and will be refinanced) on my spouse's name. Any idea if that would still work for $2500 offer?
