Dang you serious? How they sell a laptop so good for only 300$. Why are so many people complaining about it. I'd take it off of those people if they hate it so much. Me I love it.

Why did you replace the WiFi card and to what?

What's the battery life on this thing? And what's the OS windows 10? I just want to make sure I'll be able to have the most updated version of chrome to play Stadia.
This comes with Windows 10 home. I get about 5 hours of battery life doing web browsing and productivity apps

This comes with a. Intel AC 3168, a 1x1 wireless card that supports a Max of about 400 ish Mbps. For less than $15 on Amazon, I upgraded to an Intel AC 9260, which is a 2x2 card that supports a max of 1.7 gbps. My wifi router doesn't support the fastest speed, but I can get double the speed I was getting with the stock card. Honestly unless you have really fast internet at home or are transferring files withing your home network it's probably not worth upgrading.

This supports a single 16 gb sodimm if you want to upgrade; I picked a crucial ballistix stick but only because it was cheaper than normal crucial... probably anything that is a ddr4 sodimm @ 2400mhz or above will work.

Please enlighten me with several of your so-called deals that are better than this at this price range for a 2.5 lb size laptop with decent specs.

PS: I reiterate and request you to please find a laptop deal that weighs a mere 2.5 lbs and should be very, very light and highly portable. So, enlighten me, please. I am waiting...

My final price, after taxes and cashback, is a whopping $305. Mind blowing deal.
Don't take it personally. The guy clearly doesn't know what he is taking about. There aren't any deals anywhere close to this weight for this cost. For the average (non gamer/power user), these Motile deals can't be beat.

played a 4K movie.. it does do HEVC hardware acceleration. Use about 3% of battery for 10 min of movie. So this would last you about 6hr of movie. good enough for most flights.

good thing that there's AC plugs in more and more planes now. But am i the only one bothered by the power brick?

I noticed the Motile keyboard has combined the up/down/left/right arrow keys with Home/End/PgUp/PgDn keys. Anyone who has already purchased, finding this keyboard difficult to use?

My current laptop has those keys separate. I'm concerned those combined keys would be especially difficult using MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) along with web browsing. I constantly switch between using the arrow keys and the PgUp/PgDn keys in particular.

Is there a way to program other key functions, so I can have separate Home/End/PgUp/PgDn keys?

most of these small form laptops are like that. separate numpads and nav keys are usually avail on bigger 15inch ones

just did a complete re install of win10, you do need a mouse at the beginning because the mousepad needs a driver to work, just use keyboard during install. then let windows update run, then install the radeon software from amd site,,

It's produced by TongFang, a widely used hardware mfg for rebranded systems. The brand is under Walmart. They'd originally been providing support under their Overpowered brand, but motilecustomerservice.com just popped up and provides all necessary drivers. The domain was registered 12/03/2019.

Nice. That original long review from notebook check missed that.

Copy pasted from review under section titled CASE

The word "quality" is probably not the first thing users think of when purchasing Walmart-branded products. Indeed, the **plastic** Motile M142 is simply no match when up against the likes of an XPS 13, HP Spectre 13, Asus ZenBook S13, Lenovo Yoga C930, or Acer Swift 7 in terms of looks or rigidity. Its lid in particular flexes too easily and the hinges feel like they'll be ready to call it quits after just a year or two.
any person who purchased this laptop have hinge quality concerns? i've had two budget laptops break at the hinges, so this is a legitimate concern.

Thank you for the wonderful review. Do you have the link for the WiFi card and the RAM chip that you ordered? Also, the SSD upgrade link if you have one?

Can anyone confirm whether or not the HDMI out can support 2k or 4k? I think it needs to be an HDMI 2.0 port, but I can't find that information online. Thanks!
