Can someone confirm if this is really plastic material? Im guessing it is due to the crazy light weight for a 14"
The 2019 13.3" Google Pixelbook Go is made from magnesium and weighs 2.3lbs.

The 2019 13.3" Apple MacBook Air is made from 100% recycled aluminum and weighs 2.75lbs.

This 2019 14" Walmart laptop is made of magnesium and aluminum and weighs 2.5lbs.

It's NOT plastic man stop spreading false information. Notebookcheck and a lot of others are wrong! It's incredibly lightweight and that's a fact.

Physical memory 32 GB [1]
[1] - Information is not confirmed
is it worth it to upgrade to 32...as opposed to 16? what difference will there be going from 8 to 16?

The mobo is single-channel, so you'll be constrained by bandwidth. More memory depends on your use-case. Most people will be okay with 8gb, a few popular scenarios that require more ram are multiple virtual machines, dockers, and video editing. I think you'll be more CPU-bound and memory bandwidth bound than 'amount of ram' available.

I ordered this and the Lenovo 330s. Does walmart allow you to open the boxes and still be able to return them? I just want to get a feel for both.
Also, would the dual channel memory in the Lenovo make a big difference?

Thank you! This is common sense but as we should know by now common sense isn't so common.

8GB is plenty for 99% of users, 16GB is cushion for heavy multitasking and 32GB is good for when you know what you're doing. 64GB... this isn't the right laptop for you and should probably be using something more performance orientated not just in name. 128GB is for Google engineers using a minimum of 6-8 cores and Quadro iGPUs. Don't ask me how I know.

You can open it up all you want. Literally do anything you want to it. When returning it all they care about is whether the serial numbers on the box and the bottom of the laptop match. That's it. They opened up my sealed units to verify the serials right in front of me. That hurt a little knowing they immediately became new open box products. Walmart is crazy.

Dual channel RAM would make a big difference in gaming as that's the most common application. I'm sure there's other scenarios where it would matter but if you have to ask then it likely doesn't apply to you.

Each individual PC or lappy has an unique serial number. This is a common sense, right? The serial number should also be located on a label somewhere on the box. Correct me if I am wrong.
When walmart checked you out, they scan the bar code of the product which is the same for all of this laptop. the serial is different but that's not what is being scanned. the product bar code is the same for merchandise selling.... you just return the new box with the old receipt.

you probably don't want to spend the money for a 32gb sodimm module to upgrade the ram of this to 32gb. . 32gb sodimm are crazy expensive compared to the 16gb sodimm. if you really need 32gb ram, you should buy another model that have dual slot so you can get 2x 16gb sodimm which is much cheaper than one single 32gb sodimm.

Can anyone confirm if virtualization is possible on these? That's the only thing holding me back from pulling the trigger. Sorry for double post!
in win10 under task manager, cpu section, virtualization it says enabled. I don't know as much about if this has all the specific mode like vt-d, etc like intel, but any in depth review on ryzen should have that info.

Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for. Ryzen virtualization is AMD-V I think.

not sure that there is such a thing as refurbished ram. used ram are usually fine. most of the time they work or they don't and you can usually tell right away because the bad ram will cause all kind of system crash and problems upfront a lot of time. but once a while you can get very subtle ram error that cause seemingly random lock up and other weird issue., besst to just get new ram....
