FYI for those who game and have overheating issues: there's a space and mounting holes for the second fan, probably used in more powerful i7 or R7 models.

There's not really a good reason to disable the page file. Having it disable may increase system instability as you start to fill up RAM. Disabling it may eek out a very small performance gain that's not worth the possibility of instability. The solution to running out of memory is usually installing more, run more efficient programs or be reasonable with the amount of things one expects a machine to handle at once.
no reason to have to use virtual memory if you have at least 16gb ram. the virtual memory uses up many GBs of space on your ssd needlessly

If I need to buy a replacement charging cord? What charging cord does this use?
you should explore the option of usb C and plug adapter so you can also use the usb C charger to charge phones and power banks.

1) Virtual memory is needed by the OS, the page file is what you disable VM remains.

2) if a page file is ballooning that's usually a sign of insufficient RAM. It will reduce automatically if the default settings are left alone and more RAM is provided or the demand for RAM reduced.

3) When the disk page file is disabled, windows simply uses RAM for that; thus some people seeing more RAM being used when it's "disabled".

4) There are many programs that will use up 16gb of RAM easily and do so even faster in systems with the page file on disk disabled.

5) If disk space is so scarce that a disk page file is an issue, it's time for a larger drive just as there was need for more RAM.

One of my systems is 64gb and can easily use up all the RAM when doing certain tasks. Disabled page file just leaves me with crashes.

I have decided that I am keeping this and need a good sleeve for it. Anyone pick one up for this laptop that works well?

Alright, so since the automatic BIOS update, every time I restart the computer I've been getting a CMD box with nothing on it show up and then close immediately. I assumed it was some updater loading. I was correct. But now it's messed up and this shows up every time:

How do I disable it?

Edit: Found the culprit.

By the way, as I said 10 pages ago, the BIOS auto update only happened successfully when I deleted the THX audio driver. This was after I experienced a sound issue, restarted the computer to see the BIOS update message (motile whatever) that would fail to update and only stop keyboard. After deleting the driver the update worked. Shit's farked yo.
I think the Windows bios update program will only be successful if Windows is activated. I had the same issue but once I activated Windows, the update went through all the way. It took less than 10 minutes to complete the BIOS update. Windows will have restrictions if it is not activated.

Anything that is marketed for a 13" laptop will fit. I personally bought this. It was 40% off during Black Friday. https://cottonon.com/US/core-lapt...46-05.html

When i disabled vm, there is no pagw file anymore. ..

If you have 64gb ram and its out of ram then should go to 128gb instead of relying on vm to prevent a crash. Ram is so cheap now that you shouldnt be bothering with vm... I have. 256gb ram on my mainworkstation and can upgrade to 512gb if needed..

Ms designed vm back in the day when ram was so expensive that people cant afford to even buy 16gb or 32gb.

On most of my machines with 16gn or above, not only do i diable vm but also use ramdisk software that uses any excess ram as a ultrafast volatile ssd...

FYI... I was having huge problems with the left Control key and it was driving me nuts because I use it so much (for cut/copy-paste). I finally decided to return the laptop and pick up a new one to see if the Control key would be any better. Sure enough, the new one works fine. It's still not a great keyboard, but it's acceptable now. I'm glad I took the chance and ordered a replacement.

I updated my bios to 1.06. I had to remove THX to update it.

However, now I do not see THX Spatial Audio in the Task Scheduler.

Anyone having the same issue? Do I need the THX Spatial Audio?
I didn't see a difference in the (already shitty) volume levels.

The left Control key on my R3 felt different than the rest of the keys ever since it came new in mid December. Until yesterday. Something finally unstuck, and now the key physically feels like the rest. A huge copy/paste difference for sure.

does anyone have a recommendation on a 65w+ usb C charger that also have a regular usb port? I need one to also charge my phone and BT headset so I don't have to carry two chargers

The one in this thread wiki only have usb C out.

How about this one? Sucks the cables are not included but it does have usb C and regular usb port:

But this laptop doesn't charge via USB-C does it?

Bricked after shoddy 1.06 update. It was running smooth while it lasted.
