After reboot everything works fine.
It seems to happen reliably if I let it sleep long enough. So it may actually be hibernated.
I just installed the AMD 20.1.3 software to try to fix this. I had the high cpu usage problem. This is fixed by make a folder called "Radeon ReLive" in the videos folder.
I found at least one benchmark where it might not be that much of a difference between single and duall channel ram on a laptop. Look at these two laptops on userbenchmark:

I know these benchmarks are using directx9 and 10 only. so maybe directx 11 and 12 stuffs might be different? But at least for some older games and stuffs, the difference between single and dual channel ram for vega8 might not be as much?

I have seen this topic discussed every possible different way, people vowing not to buy this model laptop due to it etc... Here is the plain truth, even with dual channel present and working to full effect, the ryzen APU is still not enough for proper gaming on a laptop. Yes, it will run some casual titles, but seriously, it's not enough. This loops us back around to the real purpose of the Motile 141 and 142, as an ultra light laptop for general purpose use.
I did mine in legacy unsecure boot mode, but I am wondering if it's possible to install a clean win10 uefi install. would there be a problem with the key being inside the bios?

even my guess about uefi boot is just a guess for a fix. i don't know if it will fix this problem. maybe there is a magic driver that i didn't install after a clean win install? I did install all the windows updates as well as latest drivers directly from amd.
I have another m142 with the default oem win10 and it doesn't hang doing 10+ restart in a row.
i don't think my motile with the clean win10 is defective but its just so weird it's doing that.....
