Another Firestone story. Once I called ahead saying I want 4 new tires put on. They said come in asap. I goto the store with tires bought at a different store and they flat out said to come back in 2 weeks. I told them about my phone conversation, but they said I must have called the wrong store. Firestone was an authorized installer for my new tires.
I just go to another chain now and get treated with dignity.

The price is a good deal if you shop around. No small mechanic shop is going to have an alignment service. You have no choice. Either a dealer or someone like a national chain like Firestone. If you have new rotors or new bearings installed you definitely need to have this done. If you put on new tires and you feel a pull to the left or right, or allow the steering wheel to show you at various levels of speed... then you definitely need an alignment. Otherwise don't waste your money on it. I just felt what I experienced and what I witnessed with another customer was too negatively coincidental. Generally I'd say you only need an alignment once, unless you like to ride on curbs, live in pothole hell or live down a gravel road with washboards. Any dealer can and will do an alignment regardless of your manufacturer (except some europeans). Go to the website of all local dealers Ford, GM (dozens of brands), Chrysler/Dodge and check out the specials in their service department section. Sometimes coupons pop up for alignments.
Some people will look for the weekly Firestone coupons for cheap oil changes and then have their free alignment done at the same time. Just an FYI for those stores that treat people less than deserving.
Of course sometimes they might just be being helpful. Sometimes you need front end parts or tires...

In all, this is a good deal if you plan on owning your vehicle for a few years or want to maintain expensive tires. Alignments run about $80 for 4 wheels. I see little reason to pay $80 for one when you can pay $40 more for 6, 7, 8, etc.
Appears that shop is simply offering a way to circumvent the actual TOS.

So you can't pay more than once for the lifetime service.
Of course sometimes they might just be being helpful. Sometimes you need front end parts or tires...
Funny enough, I heard them tell another customer the same thing another time I was in store, so this might be one of the scams to try to upsell you.
