Agreed. Moving to even cheaper to manufacture QLC NAND and getting more expensive? Doesn't sound like it will follow market pricing.
Prices going up on SSDs already, eh?

Yes. Anandtech has been reporting that prices are generally expected to rise in 2020 [anandtech.com] for SSDs.

I bought a WD SN500 1tb for about the same price, but this seems to have a higher transfer speed.

How inferior is this sx8100 to the sx8200 Pro?

Controller isn't quite as fast, much less DRAM (128MB vs. 1GB). I consider it in-between the EX900 and EX920/EX950 for example. It's a compromise option if it's cheaper than the SX8200 Pro.

I had this model and it that worked on initial boot and one other time out of about 20 reboots. My other Adata NVMe works fine on the same board. A handful of other reviews show the same thing. There are not a lot of reviews for this model yet though.

Adata was quick to provide a full refund and shipping label for the return, so that was good.

I have this and it's been working fine for me. Easy conversion from my previous SSD and has been stable since Christmas.

Sounds like a defective drive. Been using this drive for months with no issues

I was thinking of grabbing this for my new laptop, but the one review about how hot it runs is making me reconsider.
