Just let that shit be
This year I removed half the pegs and I use it as monthly maintenance to remove weeds that grow sideways, I'm trying to establish an Argentine Bahia grass lawn.

I have a rear tine tiller with a set of 10 straight tines that functions as an overseeder and aerator. The tines only cut in a couple inches, with the depth depending on how it is being operated. I mention because it breaks the surface of the soil.
I have had my eye on this specific dethatcher for several years. This is a good price (82) and is usually around 120 when I think I want one. A couple years ago I saw one on the clearance isle at WM for $75. Like every year, I will probably think about getting this one and make a decision too late and put off yet again.
Reviews say that it has a temperamental motor which requires a heavier gauge extension cord to prevent motor overheating and shutdown. Reviews also say to only pull straight, with turns causing the springs to break.
