There's probably a back story that poster hasn't fully disclosed. Gift cards are pretty much cash. You can use it on anything. Even in conjunction with any promotion. Only thing you can't do is pay off credit with it. Former employee.

gift cards cannot be used for store pick up but can be used for delivery or in store including discount sales
