CPU: Ryzen 3 3200U (Passmark 4610, single thread 1634), Vega 3 integrated graphics
RAM: 4GB DDR4 2666 MHz (non-soldered, only 1 slot)
HD: 128GB SSD M.2 SATA + empty M.2 slot (first slot supports SATA and NVMe, empty slot supports NVMe)
USB: 2x USB 3, 1x USB 2, 1x USB-C (USB-C does not support charging or video out)
Video out: HDMI (full size, can do 4k @ 60Hz)
Other: Ethernet port, audio combo jack, SD card reader
Wifi: 802.11ac (Intel AC 3168, 1x1)
Bluetooth: v4.2
Backlit keyboard: Yes (though apparently does not look good on silver model)
Camera: 720p front cam with IR
Construction: Magnesium aluminum
Battery: 47 Wh, ~7.5 hr battery life, 65W charger
OS: Windows 10 Home 64 bit (not S)
Weight: 2.55 lbs
Warranty: 1 year limited
Selling points:
-1920 x 1080 IPS screen
-Extremely light weight for size, with competitors (eg LG Gram) being much more expensive
-Compact/narrow bezels - 14" screen on laptop that is the size of a 13"
-Quiet
-Metal construction (Aluminum magnesium alloy)
-Backlit keyboard (some people do report the silver model the backlit is not bright enough due to the silver background of the key. with the black model having the best backlit/key background color combination)
-pretty good trackpad (large size)
-Ethernet port, full size HDMI with 4k
-Windows 10 Home (don't need to convert from S mode, has zero bloatware so no need to reformat)
-Front IR camera supporting Windows Hello (login to Windows using facial recognition)
-Very low price for all of above
-Runs Ubuntu Linux [reddit.com] perfectly (no driver installs, command line edits, etc)
Detractions:
-1 slot of RAM - so no dual channel, resulting in ~25% graphics performance hit
-Comes with 4GB RAM. While sufficient/fast for most people (despite what forums will have you believe), power users may benefit from 8GB, an easy and cheap upgrade
-Not from a well known brand (it was put out by a partnership between Walmart and THX)
-Screen could be brighter outdoors (240 nits)
-USB-C does not support charging or video output
-Wifi is 1x1 (can be easily upgrade to AX200 2x2 wifi 6 for about $18, some people do it to get the fastest possible Wifi 6 speed as well as reportedly better range and less signal drops)
-No 2.5" slot
-Trackpad a bit fidgety for precise movements
-Speakers are what you would expect for this class of laptop
8GB RAM for $30 (replaces the 4GB, so total after upgrade is 8GB not 12GB)

I will save you all the hassle, it does NOT have a second slot for RAM. RAM is single channel/slot only.

I'm at BIOS N.106 11/27/2019 now

Interesting that the above claims there are wake-up bugs in Windows and some people have been complaining about that here I think.
Wondering if there is a way to reverse the 2 finger scrolling, I have a logitech wireless keyboard with track pad, on a PC and it seems to scroll the opposite way. Hoping I can change it on the motile, went to mouse setting but didn't see a opt.
Thanks,

whenever I click on Bios Update pop-up.. (with no other apps open), A few windows open then close.. then nothing happens, my computer doesn't restart or anything. When I restart it, the popup to update the BIOS comes back again.
Any thoughts on how to properly update the bios?
EDIT: I finally figured it out.. I let it settle for 10 minutes after restarting.. now its working correctly. Thanks
I ordered the R3 model on 1/29 for $199 and got it on 2/4.
I only updated the memory to 8GB Crucial CT8GSFD824A. C16FBD1 DDR4-2400 and still have the original SSD in it.
The laptop has been quite good but it kept giving me the message at startup to update the firmware saying :
"The AFUWINx64 update utility will re-flash the main BIOS, NVRAM and non-critical blocks to address issues with wake-from-sleep on certain Motile systems. The system will restart once complete. Press the Update button to continue or press Exit."
So after avoiding it many times, I finally gave in and clicked on Update.
The Update seemed to go well - it opened an window and showed steps and got stuck in one step :
AMI Firmware Update Utility V5.11.06.1854
Current BIOS version : 1.03 Update BIOS version : 1.06

and it was stuck there for over 20 mins - so I was forced to hit control-c and the update window closed
and BIOS (in System Info was still 1.03) as the system was not restarted but all looked ok.
But when I restarted the system, the power button shows LED and if I press DEL key the keyboard backlights come on but there is nothing coming on the screen and it looks quite dead.
Any ideas what I can do to fix this or other options?
What is the return policy on this ? Is it 14 days or 30 days ?
The day count starts the day you order or the day you pick it up ?
Can I order another one and return this with that receipt or do they track serial # ?
(I did not get any paper receipt for my pickup and the email confirming pickup has no serial#)
Please help ! I really liked the laptop and had no other issues before this.
My preference is to buy another and return this but price now is higher ($249).

Man, that stinks. BIOS and firmware updates are usually done with failsafes in mind. I know from experience. But if it fails at the stage that is not recoverable, an RMA might be the only option.
