I recently switched this past December my 5 phone family plan to TMobile after being with ATT (with a 19% FAN Discount) since 2007.

We could not be happier
- my TMobile cell phone bill went down at least $75 a month
- I got unlimited data with more data before any slowdown (50gb)
- alot more DATA to use in my mobile hotspot (30gb)
- free netflix service
- Tmobile Tuesday Promotion - with offers I have actually use, 40% Booking.com offer saved $100 when rebooking the previous same hotel room in January
- My bill has a flat monthly fee with all taxes rolled into plan - nice round number - no chasing over billing mistakes
- a dedicated team of support personnel - Which I used 3 x's and was fine to work with
- Support was US based, unlike ATT who uses overseas a call center, which in my experience cant handle questions that are not included in their script which doubles-triples the amount of time needed to address any issue
- no dropped calls yet
- better cell coverage in my area, previously dead zones now work
- and best yet - IMPROVED CALL QUALITY - after activating our phones, we made test calls to each other, we immediately noticed that our calls didnt sound like we were underwater or calling 5,000 miles away from on top of a mountain to someone in a subway.

So with additional cell plan savings and free netflix- I am saving $1,044 a year
Did the same thing! Magenta Plus.

Free Netflix, plus 4 free iphone 11's, plus one line FREE (free fridays promotion). Saving over $90/month over at&t, better service, friendlier customer service people (at&t store locally wouldn't even let me in the store to talk about my plan--no idea why).

Not saying the at&t deal is a bad one--I was with them for 8 years. Would have probably considered staying had they enabled the FAN discount 2 years ago...but I've found that the grass is definitely greener for me. ymmv for sure.

There is a discussion thread on reddit about this from an att employee. Can clarify if you have any questions.

Thanks,
This link answered all my questions.
The first post was more useful than this whole thread on SD

thanks to both of you for the clarification.... not worth it for us then... just 2 lines, and we don't use all the limited data we've already got since we're on wifi most places and pay about 95/month with taxes included using my current FAN discount... figured if it really was just $5/mo (stacking FAN plus 10/line discounts) we'd upgrade for the future-proofing on data use and other perks, but not for $130/mo plus tax
Same here. I've got 3 lines on the lowest shared plan and am at $118 w/taxes with my FAN discounts. Thanks for clarifying that.

Hopefully the Loyalty $10 off per line discount returns and we can stack that on to these plans

Just asked about it for my plan. I currently have Unlimited & More Premium with the $10/line discount. For my 6 lines it is $200 before taxes and fees ($232 with). Unlimited Elite would be $210 for my 6 lines before taxes and fees. I'd lose my free Spotify, but I'd get free HBO.

Not sure if it's worth the upgrade. I don't think I'm going to do it, don't really care about 5G access.

This is a poorly created post that will lead to more confusion than providing actual useful information.

Essentially, if you have FAN discount on your account, doesn't matter what discount percentage, you can get the Unlimited Elite plan for the price of the Unlimited Extra.

And currently, AT&T's unlimited plans are as followed from best to worst:

Unlimited Elite > Unlimited Extra > Unlimited Starter

This is location specific - in my area TMobile has poor coverage with a lot of areas with absolutely no service. So only options to have reliable and complete service are ATT or Verizon.

Mmm, still cheaper on their grandfathered unlimited plan.

Paying $72.xx (dependent on days in a month), vs this deal which would be $75 + tax.

If only they would apply the % discount to the new plans.

Should I switch from my grandfathered unlimited plan to this if I have FAN discount?

I was talking to AT&T yesterday about upgrading all 9 of our business lines to Elite. I was told going paperless and autopay would not only get me Elite for no cost, but my total cost per month would be reduced $4 and change. I have to see my bill at the end of next month to believe it though. Came here to see if this was posted and sure enough, here it is laugh out loud

This....what matters is consumers have choice. I switched all my 5 lines to T-mobile (in CT). Great price point and good customer service. The issue we were having was indoor coverage. The low frequency coverage were very much lacking compared to AT&T and Verizon. Anytime we were in buildings the coverage was close to no bars or slowpoke data. Ended up switching back to AT&T. Again ultimately it comes down to how good the coverage is in your area and pick a carrier according to your needs.
