It was the tamron 28-75. I bought it for that price in November.
on my a9 i get about 10 fps with continuous autofocus, and even then it misses sometimes. for portraits, landscapes, street photography etc it's awesome just don't expect to be blown away for fast action
and yes it's sharp enough to use with the a7r IV, i've tested it on there and it resolves just fine.

It isn't as good as native glass but still very usable for sports on my a7iii. It might miss on some frames but at 10 fps, chances are you will still get the shot the vast majority of the time in a nearby frame.

I usually use my Sony 70-200 when shooting sports, so it's not much of a downside for me, plus the 24-70gm is bigger and heavier than the Tamron, which to me is a worthwhile trade off since I can use this Tamron 28-75 lens all day at Disneyland or whatever, whereas I wouldn't take the GM in that situation due to size and weight.
