Building out a comparable system according to PCPartPicker comes to around $1,400 depending on the exact parts you sub in. That doesn't include the OS license either, so if you want a legit copy of Win10 Home it's closer to $1,500.

So yeah this is a pretty slick deal.

New nvidia graphics cards and new intel processors are due out within a few months. Expect prices to drop a little.

Isn't this [costco.com] a better deal?

Also how do these compare to this expired deal (I don't know a lot about PCs, eveness about AMD vs Intel)

Great price. Reviews have several complaints for the motherboard though. I would wager it's an OEM board. Bummer.

FWIW it's been this price for two weeks now. (Could be due for another drop)

I Was hoping for another price drop before people swooned over it.

This is a blower model 2080, runs hot, Lenovo proprietary stuff, basically can't be upgraded since intel will probably need a complete overhaul, small ssd, and a weak power supply....

After looking at the deals lately this is decent but too many pitfalls imo for this price point.

That said if you're looking for a high end system with a terrific warranty through Costco and you aren't worrying about how to alter it later then this is a great system with high end cpu/gpu combo.

This is better out of the box system. The intel processor for most tasks will likely beat that particular AMD processor and the 2080 is better than the 5700xt.

The other cyber power probably will be better for upgrading later. The next set of AMD CPU are expected to be able to be used with our current motherboards, it also has better ssd storage, better cooling, and likely a proper power supply.

I've been looking for a good gaming system for VR and this one looks really good deal with a few limitations. From what I'm reading (I could be wrong since they don't go into details):

1) They only have 2 slots for RAM so a 16gb system will be full up - most systems in this category have 4 slots so you have 2 slots free for easy expansion. Will have to replace the RAM that comes with the system if want to upgrade.
2) No free slots so can't expand (e.g. with sound card, video capture card, ...)
3) No USB-C Port (though it may have one on the graphics card - they don't say but saw a video that showed at least one config that had it)

Seems like a lot of bang for the buck - the memory slot thing really bothers me since my intent would be to buy 2x16 to go to 48 on most systems but only gets to 32 on this one and have 16gb not in use

Would wait for new Intel and Nvidia options to see if price drops further.

Great price but note that this is a 500W power supply. I'm sure Lenovo has ensured it works with this setup but you are really at the top limit. Adding anything that uses power could destabilize you, and need to be careful with upgrades as well.

As a gaming pc, this is way better out of the box. The other maybe more upgradable but you need to spend efforts and $$$. If you don't know a lot, and looking for a gaming pc, this is the one.

At this spec, I am not sure what would you like to upgrade. Even if you do, it might be years later you need to change your mobo most likely, so find a better psu then.
