Hard Pass. Price is the same as Amazon. Return shipping costs $6.99. If I wanted it I would just go to Amazon. If price was marked down another 25% or so then maybe it would be worth it.

R2 is an extensive line.

There really isn't a standout in the Patagonia v. The North Face discussion. The outerwear de jour is Patagonia due to their manufacturing/labor practices and return policy, but otherwise the differences are largely negligible.

Negligible? Why do people talk out of their butts like this.
a jacket is a jacket, people believe Patagonia is better cuz its more hip now and the outdoor cult crowd is telling them its better, biased perception/placebo whatever you want to call it

This is largely true when it comes to the materials.

The real difference is the sizing between brands.

Are you going to be warmer in one jacket over another? Possibly, because of how it fits.

But, in terms of the materials used they are marginally different.

People buys brands that are aligned with their personal belief, so hence Patagonia edging out a lot of outdoor brands because of how they source and their values.
