I've already got a cheap laser printer for the few times I print
How about buying this just for the scanner? I just want to scan PCBs for 3D modeling or album covers for digitizing. Is this good, or would I be better off buying something else?

No, just get a scanner.
Inkjets will use up all the ink within a year +/- without printing.
Even if you turn on only when needed, will still use ink AND will cause printheads to clog/fail prematurely.

No they don't.
Quit spreading misinformation.
Most failures are due to dumb users that don't follow directions.
Examples...use crap ink
And/or shut the printer off after use.

Shut the printer after use... Thanks goodness, you didn;t suggest to wrap it in bubble-wrap after use.. LOL... This ain't a TV to shut it after use.. You must be living in 80s..

Speaking of living in the 80s I have found myself having to send faxes a lot in the last year or so... Which usually involves trying to find a friend/family member who works in a place with fax machine... Not easy...and not quite sure why faxing documents is still a thing.... So this is definitely tempting at this price. Thanks for sharing!

I use crap ink and my workforce has been going strong for several years. Bought it for about $30 and got about $50 back by selling the Epson ink. Been using cheap ink since. No issues other than occasional banding if I let it use default high-speed setting. Paid $10 for a 4 pack of the 3 colors and 8 pack of 8. Used about 2/3 of it so far.

Mostly use it for coupons today. Printing a few pages once a week keeps it going.

This might be a good printer to buy as a backup and keep in the back room. I'm sure that when mine dies there won't be any on sale at the time.

Like the idea that it has " 2-sided printing".

I bought my first Epson printer couple years ago. WF-3640. I will never buy another Epson. Ever.

Within the first year, I had to have it replaced. Print nozzles just would not work. Cleaning, etc did not help.

I am out of warranty now, and the generation of the color red is not working. Again did all the cleaning crap. No change. I am sure others have had better success. There were plenty of good reviews on several sites that I read up on before purchasing.

NOT my intention to threadcrap. I appreciate ALL deals posted. Hope your experience is better than mine.

I'v got an Epson WF in the garage. It was a great little MFP. Until the heads clogged from not printing every week or two. It costs more to replace that, than what I paid for the printer. They should program these to wake up once a week and print a test page to keep the ink flowing. But plastic straws are the problem.

How is the scan function? Easy to use, scanning speed?I have been looking for a cheap scanner with an AUTO feeder. Stand-alone scanners are quite expensive.

If you're talking 12" vinyl LPs, the scan bed isn't going to be big enough - you'd have to take at least two scans and stitch them together for each cover. Tedious as heck if you're doing more than a few.

You've still got a landline to fax with?
