-Auto progression during cutscenes so I don't have to constantly hit x to hear the next line of dialogue
-Skippable cutscenes
-Fast forward option in battles so grinding is much quicker if you want it to be
-Can use the crafting forge anywhere
-Can buy most missing recipe ingredients from the forge itself saving hours looking up where to get one little missing ingredient and save scumming when it didn't come out perfect during forging
-New cosmetic outfits
-You get an item that lets you summon the horse from anywhere on the map instead of those weird bells
-When you forage for items from trees they all go straight to the inventory instead of having to be picked up one by one
-Orchestral soundtrack
-Japanese voices even tho I still love the Dub and I think the JP voiceover is a first for the series
-New story content
-A photo mode that I'll never use but I'm sure someone will
-More mounts
-Harder end game content
-The 2D mode is pretty cool and adds a whole new town
I'm sure I've missed some stuff but this is all I can remember noticing which is already a LOT

I'm feeling the itch too but the ending was a WTF garbage.

No, it's a fairly different game. Dragon Quest XI is an excellent turn-based JRPG with an endearing cast of characters, but plays very differently than BotW, which is basically an open world adventure game.
The story, the characters, the writing, the voice acting, the art style are all exceptionally well-crafted and endearing. I'm currently 50 hours in and the game is showing no signs of slowing down, but when I finish it I will for sure be going back to try some earlier entries in the series.
lol same, my switch backlog has been growing since that b2g2 from gamestop back in december
