Are these better than the OP? I'm not overly familiar but looking to by a pair for my wife for bird watching. To me I'd rather avoid the MIR but wasn't sure which was the better pair.

Honestly, I'd spend a little more on something nicer. Costco sells Athlon Talos with a harness and no-questions warranty for like $150 everyday.
