Sprint WILL RELOCK your unlocked device as they did to mine. Not a single incident as friends and family of mine got their RELOCKED to the sprint network. We all had unlocked devices when signed up. Now all our phones are locked to Sprint. Thats illegal.
You have to stay for 90 days to keep the $300 and their unlock policy is 60 days, so while I agree they should not be re-locking phones, you can get it re-unlocked after 60 days and before your 90 day requirement is fulfilled.
Thanks! Ordered the BYOD Amazon SIM on Monday and was sitting on whether to switch my Iphone over. I felt a little dirty about going back to Sprint. I left them 4 years ago (after 18 years as a customer) and said I'd never go back.

Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.

I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

I dont know, but I've been wondering myself what name to use if I open another account.
If u dont have the luxury of using a spouse name (lucky), consider swapping first , last name.

Not me Smilie. Some of my siblings have been with Sprint for a long time, but they told me that Sprint coverage sucks so I had never signed up with them. I use Tracfone. Just signed up for this deal to get the rewards, I don't even care if the phones have no signal Smilie

My wife just opened an account, and I still havent closed my free BYOD from last year. Both of these accounts were credit checks, so from what I read in this thread we could open two more no credit check accounts but I wonder about the referral as it clearly says in the terms that we can't refer ourselves. Might have to ask parents or in laws if I can open an account for them.

If I make up names, how will that work when I need to enter DOB?

I wasn't suggesting that you make up names. Some people use variations of their name (like William, Bill, Billy, etc) and the credit agencies note that in that person's file.

FWIW, I ported in an unlocked Visible Moto E6 on 3/14 and as of today it still accepts a Tracfone AT&T SIM and works (you don't need an active SIM for this test). Either Sprint likes me or Sprint hates "Ilovegoodeal" Smilie. Other people in this thread said their Sprint-branded phones that were unlocked by Sprint when they left Sprint got re-locked when they came back to Sprint; but their non-Sprint-branded phones were never locked by Sprint.

Same here, I ported an unlocked Sprint iPhone 6 and have been swapping Sprint & Mint Mobile Sims, so YMMV if the phones will be locked again
My LG G8's were not locked after activating on a new account this week. I thought they were Sprint phones but I guess not, or something has changed. Model number is LM-G820UM, some websites say this is the Canadian version but I know its not because I'm on band 26 right now and the Canadian version doesnt have 26.

For referral purpose I want to open an account for my wife at Sprint and would like to port a T mobile number under my name to her new account at Sprint? Is that porting possible - from my T Mobile account to her Sprint account or do I need to first changer ownership at T Mobile?

You don't need to change the name of the account/phone being ported out. I ported in 2 numbers from Visible and one from FreeUp. They didn't get ported in under the same names as on the old carriers. As long as you provide the correct phone number, acct #, PIN, Sprint doesn't care.

I've never had a problem porting a number with a different name on the account but I've never ported from Tmobile.

From my own experience, Sprint doesn't care if it is original sprint unlocked devices or non sprint origin unlocked devices.

it happens to all my friends, families and co-workers' unlocked devices through the last BYOB plan.
I didn't even know it was possible for a carrier to lock someone's factory unlocked phone...2 questions:

1) Like for example if someone bought a pixel directly through Google that was never locked in the first place, Sprint could lock their phone only to Sprint?....

2) What did you guys do that caused them to take such a harsh action?

are you asking how to port to Sprint or your Sprint phone will ring with your GV number?

if ring to your phone, just add your Sprint number to Google voice, text/SMS will be in GV app
