Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.
I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

That said, it's possible they may have a more lenient standard, but no one will know for sure till 90-days from now.
When my first year of Free BYOD plan with Sprint ended I ported out, waited the mandatory 45 days, and ported the same number back in for another year of Free BYOD. No complications, no snafus, no fancy maneuvering necessary.
Is everyone else reading the promo terms in this manner?
On the other hand, they might be laughing all the way to the bank with $1500 in gift cards.
- Know for sure that 45-days qualifies as a new account
- Don't know what Sprint's criteria is for "previously activated phone numbers may not be eligible for this offer"
Therefore, those that want to be absolutely sure that they will get the rebate are advised to minimize the possibility that their ported number may have been on Sprint before.Sign up for a Slickdeals account to remove this ad.
do you know if upgrading a device paid in full (tribute empire) will qualify for portal rewards?

If you decide to do it, I'd say get screenshots, that it was approved, and if you check with chat, that you get a screenshot.
I'm guessing, the sooner you do it, the better, who knows they may decide to deny tmobile ports down the road, though it might be unlikely.
that's just my opinion.
