Sprint WILL RELOCK your unlocked device as they did to mine. Not a single incident as friends and family of mine got their RELOCKED to the sprint network. We all had unlocked devices when signed up. Now all our phones are locked to Sprint. Thats illegal.
You have to stay for 90 days to keep the $300 and their unlock policy is 60 days, so while I agree they should not be re-locking phones, you can get it re-unlocked after 60 days and before your 90 day requirement is fulfilled.
Thanks! Ordered the BYOD Amazon SIM on Monday and was sitting on whether to switch my Iphone over. I felt a little dirty about going back to Sprint. I left them 4 years ago (after 18 years as a customer) and said I'd never go back.

Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.

I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

Hey guys, apologies in advance for the length.

So I'm in something of a bind. Apparently the BYOD dreamliner will reach its final destination on 6-10, tomorrow, and the 15 mo. gravy train will grind to a screeching halt. If I take no action my bill goes from $10 to $100, forthwith. This seems like a rather rude gesture on Sprint's part given how low-maintenance I've been for the last 15 months, but you know what they say about all good things.
...
Guess I'm just wondering if I'm missing anything? Are there better options that let keep my current number?

You guys are awesome, I've learned so much in here, thanks in advance Smilie
Walmart/Target/BB sell prepaid sim kits locally -- see what they have and pick the carrier you want

If you want Mint then BB sells the 3mo kits:
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/mint...Id=6022210
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/mint...Id=6022211

Buy the kit and activate it at home -- enter your phone number, Sprint account number, Sprint account pin and rest of your info then Mint will port your number over from Sprint (your Sprint service will cancel automatically after port out)

Looks like Sprint is trying to cheat us out of a bunch of referral cards. On 5/28, I received 11 congrats email for successful referrals and my wife received 8 of those email. So far, we've received only 10 cards (9 for me as referrer and one for her as referee).

Yesterday, I sent a message to Sprint Referral asking when we can expect to receive her 8 cards as referrer. This morning I got a reply "We have determined that you've reached the maximum reward limit for this address - XXXXXXXXX TOPEKA KS. According to the program Terms and Conditions, no more than twenty cards will be sent to the same physical address within a twelve month period of time". That's a bunch of BS, because even if they had sent us those 8 cards, that still adds up to only 18.

I sent a reply explaining the math to them. I'll see what their response is.

I still kept 1 BYOD line for the sake of referrer $50 bonus. Received email of "Great news! Your referral has been validated! As a thanks, we are sending you a Prepaid Mastercard®." more than 2 weeks ago, and still no card. So far, on the Sprint referral website, the status showed "1 Successful".

How long do I have to wait before I contact Sprint? My BYOD line is ticking and needs to port-out soon.

Check the tracking on rebateshq.com using your name and zip code. If it's not shown there, it hasn't been shipped yet. You don't have to wait before contacting Sprint and ask when it will be shipped.

I used the form at the bottom of their page. For referee names, I put "There are 8 names". I didn't put anything in the referees' email addresses. Those fields are not marked as "required'.

Today [06-07-2020] status again updated.
  • Sprint Website
    • Status: Fulfilled
Your registration is valid. Please allow 5 business days to receive your card.
  • RebatesHQ Website
    • Status Detail: Your rebate is valid. Please allow up to 30 days to receive your rebate.
Has anyone gotten their $300 GC cleared (the Missing Is Deliquent removed automatically) WITHOUT calling/escalating yet? It'll be crazy to me if everyone with this issue needs to call in. I assumed that this would go away automatically after a full 3 months of service but who knows for sure.

Ask me again after 6/13. I activated my 1st line on 3/13, the first day the deal was available.

Just get your sprint account number and pin ready and port it to your preferred new carrier and pay the service fee. Personally I won't lock myself into a annual plan of $240 before testing the network. Some ppl try to port out before the free 1 yr plan ends and back to sprint via Bestbuy to lock in the $25 Kickstarter plan for Unlimited everything on the soon-to-be-tmobile network (new SSN required if you want it immediately or 45 days after account termination with old SSN)

For easy port out and port back, the current cheapest option is Ultra mobile $3 pay as your go (the previous T-Mobile $3 plan but now is outsourced to Ultra) with $10 top up required(I believe this company either owns mint or they are sister companies) the down side is you need to do it in store
Or port to T-Mobile prepaid for $15 per month capped $2GB data and is available for the next 3-5 years

Try on T-Mobile network with Ultra/T-Mobile prepaid before buying the mint $240 plan if you can't get the .99 SIM card on time

HIH

Btw, What is the T-Mobile .99 sim kit? Did you mean the sim kit for mint?
No I picked up 3 T-Mobile starter kits for $0.99 each on Black Friday a few years back. I figured at some point I would be using T-Mobile, and I didn't want to pay the $12 each later. Now if I can just find that darn things! Yeah I read some of the complaints about mint and I think I will go to T-Mobile route.

Is this $300? I thought you activated yours on 3/31? How come your rebate is valid even it's less than 90 days?

Even if you find them, the sim kit expires within a year or so. Don't waste time looking for them.

Well, if it doesn't clear after the 3rd payment, call them to escalate the rebate so like other ppl (tryCatchDealException and YamahaRick) you will get it within your 3rd month, so no need to pay for the 4th month of service hopefully (offer terms state it takes 13-15 wks to receive the rebate cards under normal process)

I have to agree there is cause for concern - an earlier post said the service rep refused to stack the referral on the pending $300 BYOD. I was promised a call back on Monday because I followed the majority of steps correctly - got flagged "unsuccessful" and it was just me trying to refer my wife. Don't know how hard to push because the $300 outweighs the $50 (times two). It was the likelihood of paying a fourth month on two lines that made me want the extra $$.

Have you called? Does your rebates have speedbump message? Missing is delinquent if No CC acct? Thx
