Sprint WILL RELOCK your unlocked device as they did to mine. Not a single incident as friends and family of mine got their RELOCKED to the sprint network. We all had unlocked devices when signed up. Now all our phones are locked to Sprint. Thats illegal.
You have to stay for 90 days to keep the $300 and their unlock policy is 60 days, so while I agree they should not be re-locking phones, you can get it re-unlocked after 60 days and before your 90 day requirement is fulfilled.
Thanks! Ordered the BYOD Amazon SIM on Monday and was sitting on whether to switch my Iphone over. I felt a little dirty about going back to Sprint. I left them 4 years ago (after 18 years as a customer) and said I'd never go back.

Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.

I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

Looks like my plan to add the $50 GCs to a bluebird card for ease of making big payments is not working out. Received the bb card today and activated it, tried to use the Add A Debit Card function but it kept failing, saying it couldn't find the card because the name/address/zipcode of the debit card didn't match the same info in my bb account. I tried 3 different $50 GCs and each time I got an alert from MyPrepaidCenter that there was a ping of $0.01, so obviously the numbers that I entered were correct. Seems to me like bb wants "bank-backed" debit cards, not prepaid GCs (although it clearly shows Debit Card on the front of the card).

hpham, your experience with the MC gcs is why I used them at Staples to buy a Visa gc, which I easily converted to a MO at WM.

I'm still hoping to receive at least three of my five $300 gcs from Sprint by Saturday, so that I can buy fee free VGCs.

I don't have experience with it, but I believe I read that you have to go to a Walmart to load the MC balance on to the BB.

That is why I don't have a BB...no Walmart near me and even if there was, I'd probably not walk in unless absolutely my life depended on it! EEK!LMAO

Adding money from some sources requires you to go to a Walmart store. But their online site has a function to add from a Debit Card, even a how-to video showing a girl adding a debit card using their app on her phone while sitting at home.

An earlier comment is this extended thread said something about registering each GC with name and address in order to use them online. Not sure if that information helps. I plan to use the Sprint cards to buy Amazon gift cards - I think my Visible GCs from Blackhawk worked on Amazon straight away without extensive registration.

Unfortunately, there's no Staples stores in my city.

I did create a Profile at MyPrepaidCenter.com and added my cards to my account, along with setting a PIN so they can be used as debit card. But the Profile only has name, email address, security questions, but no street address.

Yes, I can use the Sprint GCs to buy Amazon GS and Ebay GCs, but I don't want to spend all of my GCs (about $3350 if Sprint and AT&T pay what they should) at those places.

I'm glad I'm doing the Little League version of this MM. I ended up screwing up the referral process when adding my wife as a second money-maker. Instead of settling for $50 and giving $50 to a more skillful SDer I got greedy and went for the extra $50 by being the referrer and making her the referee. I have next to zero confidence that I will get retroactive approval. I tried chat, two web form submissions and a lengthy call to 611 - still have my referral in the "unsuccessful" bucket with no idea of how to get any relief from these clearly overloaded promotions people.

I hope folks find a way to convert to cash as needed. I will easily spend my $650 in pending GC with normal family shopping on Amazon!

I can use them to pay medical bills (no fees), estimated income tax (fee varies depending on whether they accept them as credit cards or debit cards), at grocery stores (losing the 6% I'd earn if using my Amex Preferred card), etc. It'd be more convenient if I could load all the GCs to one bb card, instead of carrying a bunch of them in my wallet.

You ~can~ buy gift cards at AMZN for restaurants - but then again, you can use the MC gcs there directly.

It can be a PITA to keep track of available balances, however. And the cards we receive from Sprint probably won't work at gas pumps either.

No, for some reasons you can't use the Sprint GCs at the gas pumps. You have to go into the station or to the booth.
Keeping track of balances isn't bad if you have all the cards loaded into your account at MyPrepaidCenter. See attachment.

I tried using my $50 referral card towards my T-Mobile bill.

When I first got the card I created a MyPrepaidCenter account and noticed that I could add a PIN to the card, so I did. It's possible that caused the problem.

T-Mobile rejected the payment (online, not via phone) saying that they don't accept that card.

So I had a $50 "pending" charge on the card. Well, normally pending charges disappear in a few days but this is day 9 and it's still there (zero balance on the card).

I see on the MyPrepaidCenter website:

(Note: Pending transactions cannot be disputed. Although most transactions settle within 10 days, you may need to allow up to 30 days for settlement or for the funds to be added back to the card.)

30 days? Whatta deal :-(

I also thought that maybe having set a PIN is causing some problem, so I tried to reset it. Unfortunately, you can't clear the PIN; you have to pick another number or cancel out.
