Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.
I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

I ordered the day before the promo ended, activated 2 days later.
If your current one is no credit check, port out 5 lines to close the account, simply open a new account with new line at BB, port back your main line to replace it)
Try contacting TF using Chat, so you don't have to put up with the rep's accent. Go to TF web site, click on HELP-->Contact Us-->Online Chat. If you don't see the red Click To Chat Now button, turn off any ad/pop-up blocker, or try another browser. Ask the rep to create an account for you. If they pick a PIN, ask them what it is (usually the last 4 digits of phone number) so you can change it.

Ordered and activated on 04/09 and got all 5 updated this morning to "valid" and "10 days" messages
my lines were activated at signup with a rep though. They don't check for usage, just that it was activated and stayed that way.
Wasn't sweating it that much. my 5th line on BYOD free year was a phone that I signed up with, never opened, and returned to store. That phone stayed on my account for half a year until I replaced it with another phone.
Choose 1 for english.. Then wait press1 for card handy.. Then press 1 to check balance..enter all card details.. And then wait press 2 to continue.. And then in next menu it was option 3 or 4 for the pin..

Another potential solution: if you have any TF sim, new or deactivated, without a plan attached to it, you can activate that sim and transfer your TF line with all balances to that sim card. People who did TF's Amazon or eBay $25 eGC promo received 3-in-one sim kits, and used just one of them to get that eGC. So remaining 2 sim cards can be used to swap sim cards for existing active lines/numbers and create an account in the process. For this purpose, TF's deactivated sim cards can also be re-used, even gsm sim cards.
Email addresses were never an issue for me, but I am not sure about current situation due to what Mr. Pham mentioned. Perhaps TF is trying to make it harder for people like SDers to use those sim cards.
