D3 is great, no need to buy the D5. If I ever upgrade again it will be copper core and that'll only be because I've become rich enough and want them for the hell of it. D3 are really nice
I have some non-sticks with the same handles and read posts like this before I bought them... thinking, eh, how bad can they be.

Reality? The handles suck. I mean really, really bad. Anytime you pick a pan up with something in it those cupped ridges dig into your hand. I ended up buying cheesy looking silicon handle covers to make them usable, but they still suck.

If I cooked more there is no way I would still have them. They might be great pans but this is a critical flaw. Don't do it.

Put "All-Clad Tri Ply" in title and you might get more interest.

Thanks for posting. :-)

Based on the reviews this is D3, not the better "stainless" option.
Excuse my lack of knowledge in this. What does D3 stand for? What do you mean by "better stainless"?

Same question, putting stainless in quotes is even more confusing as they're mostly all stainless in all clad

This set is D3. All clad pans are not as thick as they used to be but still will meet and exceed anything needed for home use.

Don't like the handle on this set. An annoying feature your reminded of each time you use it

Sorry about that. Not a pan expert, but look at this table. I think the complaint people have on the reviews is this is the D3, not the D5. D5 is referred to as their original "Stainless" version.

This is a D3 and its fantastic. I bought this from Macy's 1 year ago and we love it. It was a similar deal. Maybe CB available too?
