What's new with you since Covid 19?

Just wondering what (besides the obvious) how everyone's been impacted. Work has all but halted for me, other than some online reselling that I do. Also, my stepdaughter will be moving in within a few weeks, since she's being laid off. It will actually give her a chance to make a career change and save for a house. We are planning a bigger garden, too.
So, what's new with you?

There was some talk about staggering our crew start time at work so we wouldn't have 50-60 people gathering together at once at the start of the shift. Since I have been off since Tuesday morning I haven't heard if that happened yet or not.
I rarely eat out at restaurants so the shutdowns of those hasn't affected me at all. I already had a pretty good stock of toilet paper so I haven't needed to buy any of that. I don't buy much processed pre-packaged food of any kind so I haven't noticed if that kind of stuff is lacking in my local grocery stores, but fresh vegetables, meat, and eggs haven't been a problem to find.
For the short term I'm not concerned financially. I doubt my company will shut down for the virus unless it is ordered by the governor, and even then it could be exempted as essential industry, though that isn't certain. But even if I do end up off for a while I've put in quite a bit of effort to build up my emergency fund over a number of years and I do have enough to cover about 6 months of all of my expenses. And that would be without any unemployment benefits. Including that I am good for a while.
Long-term, this is probably going to hurt a little. If the economy is in bad shape for a long time I will likely miss out on up to $11/hour in profit sharing bonuses for the rest of the year and beyond. I'm feeling even better about passing on getting a new car last month and instead paying cash for my Outback at the end of my lease. So I have no debt other than my mortgage, which is a good feeling in rough times.
Probably the biggest thing on my mind is that my planned visit to see my dad in May is very much in doubt at this point. I usually only get to see him about once a year, and since his health isn't very good I know each time may be the last that I see him. My vacation schedule is locked in for the year and can't be changed. If May doesn't work I could still probably make a shorter trip there in September.
Good luck with the cardio stuff. That can be pretty scary, and even more so with the virus stuff complicating the matter. I went through a lot of that several years back and fortunately it ended up not being a big deal. Some blood work triggered a stress test which triggered a heart cath. Lots of stress leading up to it but the results came back that I had absolutely no blockage. 40 some thousand dollars later. Only two $15 co-pays out of my pocket.
Knowing what I know now the whole thing was just the result of a poor diet, and that was the one thing they never even mentioned through the whole thing. No money for them in getting me to eat better.
Don't quite know what to think of my Doctor. When he saw me Tuesday to tell me my results, first thing he did was shake my hand, and he had a smile on his face. Some guy fat guy in the waiting room was coughing over everyone. So far so good though today.
I suspect Florida is doing minimal testing. And i suspect those thousands of Spring Break idiots brought down a shit-ton load of disease from New York and other places.
Still think the heat is on Florida's side...

I've also had to pause my visits to Autumn's house to peep through her windows.
*nothing to do with the virus, just the ankle bracelet thing going off
Credit card bill has skyrocketed from having to buy things when and where I find them versus buying as needed and on sale. I've been through a series of life and death struggles health wise over the past several months so... I'm anxious. Currently hand sewing a face mask, learning to bake bread, and I cook a lot more.

So glad for no car note and no mortgage! Lot to be said for working hard to pay things off or pay as you go.
We're doing some major home reno to Get ready for our new roomie. Good of time as any.

I went to town yesterday, figure I won't again for a couple months now. Looked like a typical Sunday. Tractor Supply type store had a dozen vehicles parked before 10am, typical as before. Grocery store, don't buy much there, but I looked. Maybe 7 vehicles. Pretty much everything in stock, they were low on potatoes and bread, but they had some, boss said more was coming. Not a concern because I have my own potatoes/squash, and bread is easy to make. Dollar General, the only place for shopping (no Walmart or anything, Shopko Hometown closed), maybe 5 vehicles. I didn't see that they were out of anything, including tp. Except for hand sanitizer.... Came home to the last 3 truckloads of hay that I bought being delivered. And then I had to pull a calf out in the pasture because I couldn't get a cow to cross some water from all the flooding since the blizzard.
The cattle auctions say they are going to continue, so that's good. Still don't like the pricing difference. Demand up, packers get more profit than before, everyone below them gets less because the packers won't pay it, but it's improved a little. Just wish the investigations into that would move along faster.
