I never seem to receive this email offer. If anyone received it and either already has a lifetime pass or won't be using it, I would love to take it off your hands. Thanks!

I never received it. Ended up getting frustrated and bought for full price a few years ago. I am over the fact that I paid full price now. Smilie

I would like help in better understanding Plex Pass. I use an OTA antenna for the likes of Fox, CBS, ABC etc and the subscribe to SlingTV.

I watch mostly sports. Does Plex Pass help my sports needs if I cancel SlingTV? Will I need the HDHomeRun box as well?

Also if I sync plex say on travel to a device is their security risk of exposing my personal photos to hackers?

With a Plex Pass, an antenna, and a tuner, you can stop paying for cable, and still enjoy great television. Watch, pause, and record your favorite free HD broadcast channels, including local news and sports, on any device, anywhere in the world. You can even skip commercials!

I would love to be able to use Plex. In my Freenas, Plex is a plugin. For the life of me, I have spent days and weeks trying to configure my Freenas Media so I can access my movies and the library always came up empty. Tried mount points destination and source about any possible combinations and it never worked. I know this is SD so please forgive my rant.

I am pretty ticked at Plex I bought during the last sale. Somehow during checkout it applied to another person's account I tested once. I was very careful to login to my account and saw my account info. I contacted support and they refused to listen and said i must have logged into other account even though I don't have password for that other account. Instead of fixing the gave me a pro-rated refund and refused to let me repurchase at sale price to my correct account.

I have read the codes don't transfer. I looked in my mailboxes and don't see any offers to hand out. I waited till a fathers day sale to buy at the same price.

On a side note plex dvr worked great for me for about a year. I have run into some trouble which has made me consider switching to another media center.

Thanks. Fair enough. I likely will too.

If it makes life easier, installing Plex as a first-class application on another machine (anything you have laying around, really) and mounting your FreeNAS share(s) would probably work.

Installing that way would likely be simpler to manage as well, though only you can prevent forest fires...err...only you know if you have what you need laying around to make that work.

For consistency, I'd, of course, recommend using Ethernet, at least between your FreeNAS and whatever machine (laptop, what have you) you choose to use for hosting Plex, to connect your Library to your media.
