Lowest price I recall seeing for this. Basically a Paul McCartney style "Beatles" bass guitar. Well reviewed with the typical caveats for an inexpensive instrument.

Saw this deal yesterday and thought it could be a long and winding road getting this playable but once you do you'd be wanting to play it like eight days a week, but definitely something that could come together for you I'd imagine, otherwise you could just let it be. Just let us know if you need any help and we can work it out. Just some advice... from me to you.

Get the Indio. This is a good bass, but the Indio is better (I've owned both).

Probably needs a string change right out of the box, possibly could need some adjustments, or fret filing, etc.

I have the Indio and a friend of mine has this one. I like both and I'm far from an expert, but imo the Indo feels a lot better to play.

How's the sound/tone of this? I've got a dozen basses but none are hollowbody. This would be something to tinker with on recordings more than anything.

Cheap viola-style basses like this have (in my experience) terrible problems with intonation.
You can get them in tune with the open strings, but if you start playing up around the 12th fret, you sound out of tune. There's no way to adjust the bridge to compensate, so you're just stuck.
If I'm going to get a cheap bass to play around with, I'll always go with a knock off of a Fender P-Bass or Gibson Firebird Bass over something like this.

Completely wrong. The intonation can be adjusted. Just slide the bridge back and forth and there are also screws to raise and lower it. https://youtu.be/YOiLKy-BP4w?t=69
