I'd wait for the EX950 2TB to drop down in price again.

Amazon review on this is a little bit scary, especially the part about overheating. Anyone has experience with this particular model?

These prices are so over inflated from where they were just a few months ago. Newegg does appear to have a shell shocker on a 1TB GAMMIX tomorrow.

For the price, it's a good deal, not a great one. The 1900MBps write speed is lower than I'd like, but I've been looking at stuff like WD Black that has like 3000Mbps write speeds. I'd say if you don't need blazing fast write speeds, it's a decent deal, but definitely not great. As someone else said, the prices are high right now.

Had the exact model since last black Friday (it was cheaper than now, BTW), never experienced high heat
Sustained writing from an external SSD (for ~500gb data), AIDA64 showed no higher than 74~75 degree Celsius (quite common nowadays)
My M.2 slot is not well ventilated (back side of an ITX mobo), so I think it is actually decent.

Might help that with an aftermarket heatsink. I'm looking to do this with whatever M.2 SSD I buy, not specific to this model.

Can you look into your crystal ball on that one? I'd love to know when that would be 🙃

This drive has 3000MB/s writes. Where are you getting the 1900 from?

How would these compare to the Intel 660p's?
