Jotego is working on getting his CPS-1 core done on the MiSTer platform. Street Fighter 2 should be up any day now. Just a thought if anyone was thinking of putting a raspberry pi inside of something like this - something much better is coming.

I have two MAME cabinets and I've modded to Arcade1ups with Raspberry Pis and I don't even understand this one. Care to translate to English? Thanks.

For all intents and purposes, the "MiSTer" is the de-10 nano FPGA board with a add on sd ram stick. Its an open source project which exists to digitally recreate classic computers, classic consoles, and arcade PCB's into hardware description language. Once they're recreated in HDL, they can be programmed onto a FPGA, which is literally a chip that can be programmed at a hardware/logic gate level. This could realistically be used as a full replacement for an arcade PCB. Much lower latency and potentially much higher accuracy than software emulation. I have extensive experience with both Retropie and MiSTer and I found MiSTer to be way easier to setup too. YMMV
A programmer/engineer who goes by "Jotego" is currently in the beta stages of working on the CPS-1 board, which was Capcom's go to platform in arcades for many years. Every game on this 12 in 1 is either a CPS-1 or CPS-2 based game. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CP_System

What about Naomi emulation (done in software now w/ Redream, NullDC, Flycast, Demul, etc.)?
Naomi at this point is too complex. The most advanced thing being worked on is PSX and Atari Jaguar. In retro terms we're around 1994 + A fully functioning Game Boy Advance core. I think Joetgo just announced he's going to start working on CPS-2.

Here is a good video rundown of FPGA gaming https://youtu.be/X2G0WJ-Z9tk
Jotego working on an early Capcom arcade game last year. Nice comparison of some timing issues with MAME https://youtu.be/zKvvTW3vvoY
Same price on Amazon now.
