This post is either a flat out lie, yours were defective, or you need to get your hearing checked.

You need to select the wood grain color instead of black one.

Yes it's stereo. You need 5.0 for multiple recipients. Here, one speaker gets the stereo signal over Bluetooth and distributes it to the other channel as well, through wire.

I think the EDIFIER code is sitewide. Also they have free shipping. I managed to snag the s2000pro for $297combining the existing deal with the code OP provided, normally goes for $400.

Been looking for a set of speakers without a Sub. I been using two sets of 2.1 speakers due to lack of input on each one, one set for PC and one set for Switch/PS4, they're taking up so much of my space. This seems to be perfect as it can connect everything I need it for. Thanks!

price per pair
Not a dumb question. Some speakers are actually sell as single. But those are usually on the higher end in $$$. Usually at these price range, they are sold in pair.

oops. wrong reply, supposed for the orginal question

Ya we know China and Corona virus but Edifier is a solid brand. I can speak the same for DJI, Xiaomi and Yi. There are some good brands, may be we should convince them to move to US or Taiwan since they are good competition. Let's give a slack for good brands.

Pretty dang good deal. I love Edifier's speakers. If the R1700BT wasn't enough for my bedroom I would scoop these up in a heartbeat.
I can't imagine a room that the R1700BT wouldn't be enough for... good lord they move a lot of air.

No, that's a totally legit post. My guess is that you have never heard an AudioEngine. Try one. Seriously. They are amazing -- especially for the price.

And relatedly, the Edifier was not very good. The default sound was overly bassy -- but not good bass. Like when you get a rental car and the idiot before you turned the bass to 10. In addition, the electronics are subpar. You can hear a "buzz" from the internal amp if you leave the Edifier on and at any sound above 1/2 way. I use these for Chromecast audio streamins, so hearing a constant buzz sucked.
So, you are using a noisy audio source or an analog cable? An amplifier will amplify whatever signal you give it.

The electronics don't suck, they are premium components. There are several articles out there that go through a teardown of various edifier models. All of the components used are more than appropriate for a given product at a given price point.

This is a deals thread, not a place for you to threadcrap with your biased audiosnobbery.

Do they hum or buzz like most cheap active speakers?

I have the S2000Pro and the 1280BT, both are phenomenal powered speakers. The frequency range of both sets far exceeds what one would expect, and the quality and aesthetics are top notch. There is no perceptible hiss or noise, and I use 3 input sources (optical, BT, and RCA/coax). However, they are all high quality signal sources.

I only wish the S2000pro had a sub out, but most folks wouldn't use a sub with these anyway, they hit the lows incredibly well.

The s2000pro is also bi-amped.

I did have what I thought was an issue with them when new as well, I kept hearing a chirp in the sound on some tracks, particularly when using the DSP. I contacted Edifier and they offered an exchange. I did some more testing and realized a compressor I was using was slightly clipping, and the DSP amplified this impulse. I dialed the compressor in a little more carefully and all is well.

The other thing I like about both sets is that even at max volume, there is no audible distortion, they play clean all the way to the top. This means they dialed in the amp gains and paired them with a well matched driver. You are also unlikely to damage the speakers from normal inputs.

How would these compare to the Sonos One? Obviously they're not "smart speakers" but purely on sound?

Wait, because I disagree with you I am threadcrapping? These speakers are not a great deal because they are not that great. At the price, the AudioEngine's are much better. What else can I say?

You seem to be an Edifier fanboy, and I guess that's cool. But the fact is these are low to mid level speakers with low to mid level components. They do in fact hiss and they do not sound good -- to me. If you love them, awesome. But your opinion is yours, just as mine is mine. The fact that we disagree does not alter the fact that both are opinions.
