I bought and tried this just to see if it would work. It must be doing a digital rip of the audio file as Spotify downloads it. It kinda overtakes the Spotify program on my Windows PC and it does work.
I would assume so unless it's a cat and mouse game where the maker updates the program. But it works now.
Not really a cat and mouse game since there is a law called the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

Yeah this is either ripping the audio or getting it from another streaming app that's less secure. Probably ripping the audio but speeding up the play then slowing it back down.
It does rip in that quality. There's a very limited use case for this thing. If you have an iPod or Apple Watch or other MP3 player it would work but on a mobile phone Spotify already let's you download the audio files. This is a way to get Spotify music on devices incompatible with the service.
I watched the video on the site. What this software does is it plays the entire song, records it 1:1 (so you need to wait 5 minutes to 'convert' a 5-minute song), and then it encodes the recorded audio to mp3. The video is sped up - watch the clock. Spotify's native format (and only format) is ogg vorbis for what it's worth, so simply the fact that it starts out as lossy audio means that the end product from this software is a double-lossy-encoded audio file that ends up in a format that is 30 years old.
In summary, there are better ways to get music for $15. There are also free ways to do what this software does if you are so interested in doing such a tedious process. At least this software seems to automatically generate metadata (track name, artwork, etc.).

It being 1:1 in time is false. I just timed a 4 minute song and it took 54 seconds.
