Returning Bluetooth earbuds to Amazon

7,455 892 April 30, 2020 at 09:49 AM Amazon
I'm hoping to buy a pair of relatively inexpensive Bluetooth earbuds to use when running outdoors, to relieve all this pandemic stress and boredom, and, well, because they're the latest must-have gadget and I need something non-essential to spend a relatively small part of my stimulus payment on (the rest goes towards stuff I actually need). I've run with standard wired earbuds over the years and they're ok, but the wires are annoying and get snagged, and having their plug stick out of the bottom of my phone is just awkward.

Anyway, I'm looking to spend no more than $50, and I've narrowed it down to two finalists. One is the M-Pow M30, $37 right now on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0832GH4WF

And the other is the TOZO T6, $45 (after 10% coupon) on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RGZ5NKS

I'm leaning towards the TOZO, because it's got a nicer case and nearly 10 times as many (mostly positive) reviews, plus there's just something intangible about it that I prefer. But the M-Pow has a slightly higher average rating (4.8 vs. 4.5), sticks out from one's ear slightly less, and has tiny retention "wings" to keep it in place during workouts.

I'm thinking of getting both, trying each out, and returning the one I like less. But, being earbuds, I'm not sure if they'd take them back. The return policy for each is free returns, but only if unused. Obviously, they'd be used, however slightly. I'd clean the tips and buds thoroughly, of course, with soap and water (they're waterproof), so they'd look and essentially be like new. But still, used earbuds, returned, yech.

What do you think, gross, or they won't process a return? And, to those who have experience with one or both of these earbuds, any advice?

Oh, and btw, why is this site urlblocking M-Pow when I remove the dash?

Thanks, but I've tried ones with over the ears "wings" or whatever they're called but they don't really help, especially when my hair starts to grow out. And I already have a small BT receiver that I can use with regular wired earbuds, but really want to avoid wires completely. I'm looking for true wireless buds this time.

Dude, don't return used ear buds. They shouldn't take them back, and even if they do you're screwing someone over. Just make your choice and live with it.

I agree if the buds are just fine but I end up preferring another model. But what if it turns out to be horrible, like it keeps cutting out, or terrible bass or too much bass, or keeps skipping tracks, or doesn't fit and keeps falling out?

Why should I have to eat the manufacturer's poor product design or quality assurance? If any of these happen, I absolutely will return them.

But, while I did ask whether it's ethical, what I really wanted to know is whether they take these things back at all, if used, because of their very nature. Because until you actually use them, you have little way of knowing if they're for you, unless it's obvious that they're of poor quality before even being used.
