I always use the same SSN in both the port detail area and the AT&T account info. Since these are Boost prepaid numbers which don't really have complete owner's info, you can pretty much put any SSN there and AT&T has to way to cross-check it. But I used the same SSN in both places because if someone decide to look at the info and see different SSNs, they might get suspicious.
Thank you. I assume the name address will be as what you provide to eBay seller? Can't they cross check SSN name with the name in porting details? Also, can you also share eBay link I might give that a final try?

The ebay item number is 224085914175. I've bought from this seller before and his numbers are good for 21 days, which give you plenty of time to retry your order if it gets cancelled. Some other sellers only guarantee their number for 1-3 days.

When I bought the numbers, the seller only asked for my zip code to generate numbers that are "local" for my area. I don't think he actually needed/used my name and address, although he could look at my shipping address if he needed the info. Most prepaid carriers don't have much info of the owner of the phone number. Many owners never bother to register their phones, especially if they want to use their phones for illicit purposes.

Whew! Close Call....

I submitted a 2-line order for acct #3 (daughter's name) on Sunday afternoon. I used two Boost numbers bought on Ebay, because I already ported my 3 Sprint numbers to H2O two weeks ago (poor planing on my part).

The status changed to In Progress around 9pm Sunday. I kept checking the status and there was no change. I was getting nervous because the longer it kept dragged out the higher chance that it would be cancelled.

About 9pm today, I checked and it showed one SIM was ready for shipping while the 2nd one was showing "Pending Port Approval". I went through this before with my acct #1 because the Ebay seller got the info for two lines mis-matched. So I went to the Port Status site to check. Sure enough, it said the carrier account number for the 2nd SIM was wrong. I checked the info on my screenshots against what the Ebay seller provided me. I had fat-fingered one number, typed a "0" instead of a "9". I resubmitted the info and it went through. The port status said both numbers should be completed at noon tomorrow. That means the order should be shipped tomorrow evening and delivered on Thursday.
Great to hear that your 3rd order was approved. I also want to use my son's name for an order, but he is just past 18, a high school graduate without much credit. Since you used your daughter's ssn to apply, do you mind if I ask if they have similar background? I just want to see if my son has chance to be approved. Thanks a lot.

He must've sold out (again). Here's another seller, but the price is a bit higher at $8 (I paid the other seller $6/each).

My daughter is 30 yrs old, but she doesn't have much credit history because she pays cash for everything and has no loans (I taught her well laugh out loud). Back in March when I tried to open a Sprint account in her name, they didn't approve her because she had no credit history at all. So I added her as an authorized user to my Cap One account, and used her card to make a few small purchases then paid them off. She sort of piggy-back on my credit history, so in no time her credit score is up in the 780 range. You might want to do the same with your son, but keep the card out of his hands if you don't want him to go wild with it.

Thanks. Great advice. Her score is actually better than mine, I used to have above 800 score, but due to unpaid medical bill ( went to collection, unjustified charge from doctor/hospital) So lately I have hard time to get approved. LOL.

I also got that. Even if from AT&T, I find it shady. I have no desire to replace my devices for service that I planned to have for two months only to get the VISA.
It says 2022 on the link but no doubt ATT is trying to scare people into upgrading their phones(with them).

Some people had their claims for the $250 GCs denied because AT&T said their port-in numbers were "win back", even though those numbers had not been with AT&T for many years. That's all I know.

AT&T plans to drop support for 3G phones in 2022, and all phones to be used on their system after that must be VoLTE (Voice over LTE) capable. The thing that rubs me wrong is that many phones are VoLTE capable but AT&T won't enable them for VoLTE if they're not AT&T-branded. So far they've enabled only a limited number of non-AT&T phones for VoLTE (see attachment).

I have several phones that are VoLTE-enabled on T-mo, Verizon, Sprint, but AT&T won't enable them. Right now I'm using them on AT&T through Tracfone. Comes 2022, if AT&T still won't enable them, I'll switch to T-mo or Verizon instead of being forced by AT&T to replace them.

So like many of you, I placed an order and got the Cancelled email unfortunately. Giving up at this point since it seems they can't verify my identity. I went through Experian and Credit Karma (TransUnion and Equifax) and did not see any hard pulls from AT&T which was interesting. I don't have any credit freezes on my account either. Maybe the credit check will come later, however from my experience, they are usually instant. How odd but I'll take it! Saved me a pull for other juicy credit card bonuses Smilie
