I went through Experian and Credit Karma (TransUnion and Equifax) and did not see any hard pulls from AT&T which was interesting. I don't have any credit freezes on my account either. Maybe the credit check will come later, however from my experience, they are usually instant. How odd but I'll take it! Saved me a pull for other juicy credit card bonuses
AT&T is not consistent with credit check. They do a hard pull on some, and soft pull on some. Out of the 4 orders that I had placed since 5/1 under different names of family members, the very first one had a hard pull, the rest had soft pull (no record of inquiries from AT&T).

Thanks for the info. I just placed an order with some kind of courage ( after a large glass of vodka LOL ) I got the order number in my email. So if they cancel my order, as some people have experienced, when i should expect a cancellation? My wife's order has been shipped, ordered on Monday. My wife's order received a hard pull, it was notified by lifelock, I don't know if I was hard pulled or not, I didn't find anything on Creditkama. keep fingers crossed.

Let us know how it turns out, but it likely will be a waste of your time. Been there, done that. Spent 45 minutes in the store for the clerk to call various AT&T depts then told me she couldn't honor the promo in-store because it's for online orders only.

So, it looks like AT&T is running a 25% discount for physicians, teachers, nurses, and similar professions. Assuming this will stack with the $250 Visa deal, how do I apply it- just call AT&T after my lines are set up, and this won't cost me the $250 Visas? Also, my wife is a physician but I am not. Will the 25% discount go on both lines, or just hers, and does she need to be the primary account holder- ie sign up under her SSN? Thanks in advance.

I will receive my CB next week, then I want to close ATT
My questions :
1. Out of 4 , I will be using only ONE line
2. How can I port out that line ? What's the best deal for 2GB/month plan ?
3. If I don't port the other lines , how can I close the ATT account ?
4. Any other better BYOD prepaid card offer with other carriers ?

Thanks

I was told they will verify my credentials and place the order - they will honor the promo.. let's see.. agree it could be a waste ..

She put notes on the order that got cancelled- the stores folks will honor it is what she said..

They wanted me to choose curb pickup .. told them that option is not there

This is because they've stopped doing hard credit checks very recently, at least for byod. You can check yourself if you want. The credit check section at checkout says "Not to worry, this will not hurt your credit score"
