Verizon is offering customers with existing non-committed 100/100 plan a free upgrade to 200/200 plan for the same monthly cost of $39.99 without additional commitments.

To receive this free upgrade, login to MyVerizon dashboard here [verizon.com]. Then click "Order Now" under the black "mix & match on Fios" tile. Click your existing 100/100 speed, then click "More Speeds" and select 200/200 for a month cost of $39.99.

Complete the order and you'll now have double the speed for "free".

Please note that if your G1100 or G3100 router is connected to the ONT via COAX, your order will not be processed unless a technician visits your location to switch it over to Ethernet. COAX on the ONT only supports speeds up to 100/100 and anything faster will require the router to be connected directly into the Ethernet port on the ONT.

I just upgraded my family members. Just because they have COAX connection (pre-2016) technician visit is needed. First available date (due to the Covid-19) is December 1, 2020 Smilie I'm glad that you can easily change from COAX to ethernet yourself in less than 5 minutes and just notify Verizon about it.

Good deal!
Any instruction on how to "change from COAX to ethernet yourself in less than 5 minutes"? Thanks.

You would need an ethernet run from the ONT to inside the house to your router (self supply or the Quantun). Plug ethernet to ethernet port on ONT and other side to WAN port. Chat/call Verizon to have them switch your ONT from coax to Ethernet done.

Which is one of the best routers that you guys recommend.

At my place, I have the basic g1100 verizon router that is on the first floor. The wireless signal reaches to the basement, 2nd floor and even to the attic just fine.

I basically went with the official verizon router to avoid any type of issues but I kind of want to upgrade the router to get better speeds in the attic since I don't want to run ethernet cable from the 1st floor.

I went with the official Verizon router as well when I got FiOS internet in our new home back in March of last year... zero issues so far. It's also a G1100 with the 2.4 GHZ / 5 GHz bands.

wifi will usually be slower. unless you are running 5GHz AC setup or similar, you won't approach wired speeds on wireless.

Exactly the same situation as you, however, didn't get the message stating early termination agreement stuff, where did you get it? email?
It was a pop-up in the bottom of the browser window as I followed through with completing the purchase. Sorry but I don't have a grab of that part of the screen

I currently have Fios Internet 100/100 connected to my own G1100 router via house wired coax.

Would it be worth upgrading and installing a MoCA device at the ONT to get 200 mb/s (or ~300 like some have seen)? Or would I not see much of a performance difference?

I stream all of my tv and have gaming systems, cameras, fire sticks, etc. all on wireless so I could use a bump from 100/100.

To clarify, here would be my setups.
Current (100/100): ONT > house coax > Verizon Router w coax in

New (~200/200): ONT > cat5/6 > MoCA > house coax > Verizon Router w coax in

I wish Verizon would just allow me to use the coax port on the ONT with speeds over 100

If you are a new customer, you may be able to get them to switch it over to ethernet for you as part of their "free installation". I basically tricked them into coming out and running ethernet from the ONT to the other side of my basement (~50 foot run) for free. Was supposed to be a $100 service but the tech who ran the call just did it rather than deal with the additional paperwork. Of course this was over a year ago when I first signed up as a new VZ customer for the 100/100 deal.

Still not sure if Verizon is allowing techs to do the in-house visits to perform installations/upgrades. You may be able to schedule a visit but it may be weeks before someone shows up. Doing it yourself ensures more timely upgrade. All that's holding you up is the availability of the CAT5 cable (had to wait about a week for mine to show up from Monoprice).
