Thanks OP! I've been anticipating for this sale. Regularly lowest went on sale for $260. But I don't know if it's worth getting hell bent for $10? Would it be worth to wait 🤔?
Also, has this been the best deal out there (even in Slickdeals) for a receiver that delivers the most amounts of watts per channel at 8 ohms at this give price point? Would appreciate if anyone could recommend or suggest some that either cost or go on sale as good or better than this.
Also, would this be overkill for let's say a 2.1 PC setup like KEF q150 + SVS SB or PB12? Don't have the svs subwoofer yet, but I plan to once they go on sale most likely during Black Friday. I was hoping to buy this one since I might upgrade along the way.
Don't mean to sound specially rude in anyway. Appreciate any responses.
I was looking at this at Costco today. It is currently 439 there. Having been burned by my Onkyo receiver (Paid $500 on my student budget back in the day, thinking it would last me decades, only to die in 5 years) I am skeptical about getting refurbished. Also kicking myself for not getting the Pioneer 934 at 264 from Newegg. Looking for more input from knowledgeable people before pulling the trigger.

Grabbed one. Was looking for something cheap. Forgot to use cashback site but paying with CC adds another year warranty on top of MFG warranty.
I have found that the credit cards that I have the fine print excludes; used and or refurbished items from the extended warranty. If you know of one that does not have this exclusion please share.
As for this Yamaha unit. I picked up the refurbished one from amazon back in December. Other than the learning curve it has been rock solid.
Biggest pet peeve is the remote. There very is a very tiny HDMI out button that is located right below the power button that switches the output video going to 2 different sources. My Fat thumbs as well as my kids tiny fingers press unknowingly when turning the unit on and off, often getting frustrated trying to figure out why we have audio and no video. Fortunately now it's the first place I look when it's not working right.

This blows the pioneer out of the water with watts, you made a really good choice waiting. The U.I. on the pioneer is very limited I ended up getting a Denon for hdmi 2.1 (which this receiver doesn't have). But I would get this reciever if I don't need ARC (hdmi 2.1).

This would probably be overkill because you wouldn't use the features you're paying extra for here. This is a top tier mid range receiver if you don't need zone 2.
As mentioned to me many times when pointing out the risk of getting a refurbished product, people have informed me that they go through far more testing than a new product thus they're better. And even though legally speaking in the United States where we are, laws for refurbished products arent remotely as strict as new products - still they are apparently better due to so much testing. And even with those grades you see, even though they give themselves their own grades, its just all that testing that makes it worth it. You know, if you test your own tests in school - really that is the best, not a 3rd party such as a teacher or other students.
I recall one time I was heavily downvoted as I probably will be with this comment.. I asked "if refurbished products are so superior to new products than why in the world dont people buy exclusively refurbished products, especially being that they're cheaper?"
Leave it to resellers on here to sell you on things such as refurbished products being better than a brand new - never before used product.
The unit I received has been working well for several moths now. Sound is pretty clean and natural, connectivity to mobile devices is really easy, the interface makes setup a breeze, and pushing a 5.1 system at higher volumes has not resulted in a hot receiver as I have experienced in my pioneer this replaced. At this price, it's hard to find a unit with better features.

Pioneer and Onkyo are the same company. Yamaha is better than both.
Finally upgrading my Sony STR-dh540 that hasn't had a working display in six months. Just hoping this has the same automatic input select the Sony has (Press home button on Amazon remote, switches to Fire stick, auto switch to casting from phone etc) (This may be Normal for receivers these days, I'm no audiophile lol)
