If you're looking for a board right now this one is one of the best at this price point.
Also available on Amazon, says in stock June 9 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...et-20&th=1>OOS
If you're looking to upgrade to Ryzen 4000 then I suggest waiting for the x570 Tomahawk. BHPhotos shows $220 and available around June 16. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr...ahawk.html
I know you can't upgrade to Ryzen 4000 but still this is a good motherboard and isn't overcharging.
If you're choosing to go 2600/1600 or 3600 there's no reason to waste $120 on a 450 board. Buy a $60-70 b450 mainboard, and get a 570 next black Friday for under a $100. Outside of tier lists on forums there's no actual proof vrms on tomahawk are actually better. Plenty of review sites have pushed $60 Asus and Asrock boards to full load on a OCed 3700x with no issue. It's proof that for a 2600 or 1600 with a low OC any board with a warranty and good RAM will do

Yeah I see that, but also you don't want to go too cheap on a mobo. I had trouble overclocking my ram on low end boards. I even had the right ram kits from the Mobo QVL. This board will OC no problem and is worth the extra upgrade IMO. It'll handle a 3900x and you never know you might get a 2nd hand one for cheap in the future.
Thanks, considering this is upgrading me from a 990fx chipset and FX8350 BE, I think I can sacrifice the ryzen 4000 upgrade path and not regret it much.
What happened to the regular Tomahawk B450? Why the price is so high at the moment? Any clue?
internet fame. kind of like the 1600AF, $85 chip but now it's hard to find under $120, which is Hilarious because 2600x is $100-120 and 3600 is $160
Same thing with tomahawk, it's the board everyone recommends on Reddit and pc forums like anandtech, so that made it stay MSRP unlike every other board. $100 in other brands gets you real RGB ports, wifi, Bluetooth, and built in RGB flairs. If you really need a board now, there's better choices

You probably do. I just put a 3600x in my non-max. Runs like a champ

The MSI "Max" boards do not need a bios update for Ryzen 3000.
